This is a variation of my usual Braced Autogun builds but taking advantage of Onslaught for higher rate of fire variants like the Graia instead. Basically you're sacrificing Monster Damage without Bring It Down and extra bleed damage on Shredder Frags against armor without Rending Strikes in exchange for a massive ammo capacity that is even sillier damage against a target rich environment. The Graia Braced has a rate of fire increase when bracing so if you find a corridor full of targets then you might as well do your best RAMBO impression and hold the trigger for fun. The point in Skirmisher I consider a freebie that you can put anywhere else, I just put it there to have an initial damage buff just from running forward during downtime but it's not anything really impactful in sustained combat while ranged focused.

How do you feel a strong braced autogun build compares against the "ideal" meta Veteran builds in today's Darktide?

I have no reference for what is an ideal vet meta since I just fool around with whatever I like to pair together for fun in the psykanium and don’t actively look up other builds normally. At minimum I can say compared to the “popular” VoC plasma builds is that it you’ll have significantly more ranged uptime with similar tankiness assuming you kill enough elites/specials fast enough that the toughness regeneration from confirmed kill outpaces most enemy toughness damage output.

@@Vamp0613 Thannks for replying. I love (or more accurately, WANT to love) braced autoguns and specifically the Graia. Since launch I've been messing around with them on and off, but haven't tried one lately. My issue is always feeling a bit like I'm nerfing myself by using one, but the beauty of Darktide is that with the right build and playstyle, a lot of things that seem underperformant at first glance can really shine, so thanks for sharing this and for your response.

Ooh I love the Graia braced, I run it on my zealot with a the suppression blessing. It instantly suppresses ranged enemies and they're suppressed for so long, good ammo supply for spitting suppression too

Very early in the video, you have 3 +3 stamina curios, do you recommend those over others like Health or Toughness? I also notice you take none of the bottom 3 “keynote” abilities. I find my new butt needs one of those a lot I also gotta say, you guys are pros with all those mutants and dogs bracketing you near 7:00. Damn, great job!!!

@@somekindadragon3414 3 +3 stamina Curios is for when you have absolute confidence with Veteran in melee. To paraphrase a few points that I made when previously asked similar questions to your comment: 1. Veteran has the longest Stamina Regeneration Delay out of all 4 classes so having more Stamina than usual helps Veterans a LOT. 2. Veteran has 3 incredibly strong talents regarding toughness: Close Order Drill, Confirmed Kill (first 2 talents of middle tree), and Iron Will. Those 3 alone make it so that Veteran on the highest difficulties has so much effective and functional toughness mitigation and replenishment assuming the Veteran kills enough Elites/Specials to sustain it. I would recommend 2 toughness 1 health curio to start to have a huge pool of sustainability as a safety net and wean yourself off of it to swap for stamina if you get truly comfy and get to point where you can complete a round with less damage taken than your overall health pool. This is not something I’d recommend completely for people without total confidence in melee. 3. Veteran has so many overall strong individual talents (especially in the bottom middle tree) that it’s the only class that doesn’t need any of the three keystones to work. The sum of many of its talents can often overcome the strength of a keystone unless you make a sort of build that highly emphasizes the strengths of a keystone.

@@Vamp0613 thank you for all your advice, that was very kind and generous of you! I haven’t found any +3 Sta curios yet, as far as i’m aware, you can’t entreat Hadron to change, and i will check next time i can play. I’m also getting better at melee, and i find i still rely on light attacking spamming which doesn’t work on higher difficulties.

@@Vamp0613to add to that, will 2 health curios and 1 stamina curio will do? Genuinely curious as I don’t know if I still need a toughness curio on my vet as talents have it covered

@@sanguinor1930 take it for a spin and see how it feels. I recommended 2tough 1 health as a starter for people to make the most of vet’s absurd toughness but if you’re in the beginning parts of feeling comfy without it then that’s also a good angle to lean into if you want to go the glass cannon stamina route. End of the day try things out with and without wipes to get a feel for it.

I have it still but I haven’t looked at whether or not it’s made a difference recently. It didn’t break or spew error codes on patch so I assumed it was fine.

Why do people run unarmored on rashad axe? Ive been liking unyielding damage for bosses. I gotta onslaught setup i need to run the graia cuz I play with agripina basically everyday lol

Unarmored is needed on Veteran if you don't run some deep right side nodes for melee damage to ensure 1 shot headshot on certain moderate HP chaff. It's a wash after you get Headtaker stacks built up but it helps for intial contact.

Unarmored was previously important on the Rashad because of Brutal Momentum (and probably still is, I haven't double checked lately though). Specifically, it's to guarantee hitting that one-shot breakpoint for scab bruisers, whose weakspot is unarmored and whose HP pool is fairly large for a 'chaff' enemy. The difference between doing even 99% of their HP in 1 hit vs doing 100% in 1 hit is absolutely immense due to how Brutal Momentum works, so it's worth taking perks to hit it.
