really like this build, has very good "synergy" with critical hits. I personally don't like the shotgun, I think that the bolt pistol gives more mobility and it has a bleed blessing that don't need a critical hit to apply bleed on the target so I would choose the bolt pistol over the shotgun, but overall it is a good and fun build!

bolt pistol is great but can be slow and the reload can screw you sometimes, obviously can work around it, but shotgun does have its merits. Not to mention, shotgun's slug knockback with Zealot's impact+ perks can be pretty clutch at times.

@christiancoronado2140 not be rude but try turning off aim assist then? Personally I disabled it immediately because I hate when the game locks me into something I wasn't trying to aim, specially in a horde shooter where I need to quickly target specific priority threats

Thanks for another great video. I really like you breaking down the intent, mentality, and mechanics that should be noted/focused on as it pertains to different builds. I was curious, and you covered it when talking about the perks for the knife (+crit chance + damage), was what'd you recommend for the perks for the curios? I know it probably isn't set-in-stone, but it'd be great to know if there's any you'd recommend for this build. Appreciate it!
@TheWarhammies

I would say perks on the curios are more about complimenting your play style rather than the build itself. You can never go wrong with more heath and toughness/toughness regen as it keeps you in the fight for longer. On my stamina curios, I always like running stamina regen and sprint efficiency (especially on the knife) as it allows you to zip around quickly and get more push attacks off in combat. It also helps to build the curio as a pure stamina buffing item. Block efficiency can be really useful in the right build and I wouldn’t overlook this (but not when using the knife as you should be dodging). On this build in particular, 5% healths are useful as the zealot has a high base health pool and you get the most out of them. If you struggle against a type of enemy, consider the damage resistance perks. The curios on this one weren’t tailored specifically for it as I didn’t really need 35% damage resistance against pox hounds and would probably switch them out for combat ability regen, sprint efficiency or revive speed. When editing perks, think about what does the build do well and how do you make it better. I’m happy you enjoyed the video. I’ll make sure to cover the curio perks when I do future builds to help out! Is there anything else you would like to see in the videos? 😁

@@TheWarhammies Thanks, that's great and very informative! I like how your videos are structured and having the Psykhanium bit is super helpful in demonstrating points, followed by the gameplay where you do a good job of reiterating/reinforcing the points you mentioned previously such as using stealth aggressively or how the shotgun range suits this build. Like you, I only played Taunt/Shield Ogryn and have recently been creating other characters and levelling/learning them. So I enjoy hearing a lot about how choice of weapons/talents/perks/blessings etc., and how it influences playstyles and strengths/weaknesses or pain-points, or how to prioritize when playing with others. As I'd often see builds with everything there and just tagged with "anti-boss" or "anti-horde" etc., but not have a good idea of how or why things work together the way they do, especially as someone who only played 1 specific build and am looking to explore. Looking forward to all the videos!

As I havent figured it out yet or never got an alternative from brunt, is there a way to increase the chance of getting different marks for the weapons?
@TheWarhammies

You can now switch a weapon between any of the marks you just need the required mastery level. To do this, open up your inventory, select the weapon and on the right hand side you should have the options for marks, appearance, and inspect. Select marks and then choose the one you want! 😁

Yeah, it will change the weapon in different ways. This includes movesets, damage profiles, etc. You can actually change the mark while practising with the weapon in the Psykhanium. I’d recommend this to get a feel for the weapons move set. Each one has its strengths and weaknesses, but if you inspect the weapon you can see a breakdown of the attacks. 😁

Brother, every time I see your builds I see a combat knife. I mean, with that weapon you can basically just randomly select skills and a ranged weapon and still be effective, is it really a unique build or are you making the same combat knife video over and over again? I feel like someone is going to reply and say something about mobility. I've raced against combat knife users many times using other weapons and its really not faster. Speed is more about stamina management. I've also danced through auric damnation with a power sword, one of the slowest weapons, so speed and all that is really overrated, from my perspective. I've also cleared thick hordes off combat knife users many times. Really the knife is good when the enemy hasn't been disturbed yet, and you can rush in and kill things fast while they aren't moving. Its a selfish playstyle in my opinion. If you can't tell yet, I have a some animosity towards that weapon and the users. I think I've seen that sort of behavior in several of these videos. Not knowing or caring about what the team is doing behind you, and just moving forward starting new fights. Anyways, could you learn something new and share it, so maybe I could learn something new? I challenge you to learn to parry with the MK4 Combat Sword. Can you solo a chaos spawn with it? How about a demon host?

Sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy the video. You’ll be pleased to know that this video and my previous one are the only two builds I run with the combat blade. I had to learn how to use it for these videos. It was put into the warp rider build so I could easily create space to keep blasting with the staff (which was the focus of the build) and to keep up with the team. This fanatic build was about the knife itself and its synergy with the zealot class. I do have a combat sword planned in a future build as I wanted to get better at parrying and it’s a fun mechanic. However, this is on hold until I can get my hands on a high level one and max out the mastery.

chill out lol its just a more fun playstyle and requires more skill than most other builds. Im tired of running braindead builds in this game that require no skill which is pretty much most builds in darktide. Knife builds are overall still some of the best in the game and no statistically you will never move faster than a knife wielder its been tested against everything and it is the fastest option to run in the game. Honestly switching off of anything but the knife i feel so sluggish and slow and ive ran quite literally every weapon, blessing and skill combination.
@markmlongrie426

@@zeeksy6276 I didnt mean to imply other weapons were faster in any way really. My point was that the speed benefit isnt significant compared to many other weapons to warrent using the knife in every build as a movement modifier as the primary reason, which is the reason i see given for many builds posted in videos. Yes the knife is faster but i think its a bit of an illusion, because stamina management is the real hero in movement speed. I dont really see the knife time to kill as being superior in any way. I see many players using the combat knife and the playstyle is selfish. This is because people emulate the solo dual video behavior which just doesnt translate the same to a squad. I dont think the skill requirement is greater, its lesser in general, because the dodge frames and dodge speed allow for more mistakes. Knives have a earlier fail point in holding choke points and those points have to be smaller to work with the knife. The players that post using the knife really well in large engagements are running all over the map, which is what the knife allows. The thing is, if the player had been able to hold back a side or area in a fight, maybe the other member of the squad wouldnt be dead. What happens is, we will be in a choke and attacked on both sides, the knife cant hold his side and peace stealth out, "clutch later, imma be a hero!" Which screws the other player. Theres other knife behaviors ive noticed, such as run in and kill a high score elite and then run out to the next, leaving the lesser shooters triggered and chipping away at the rest of the squad who follows. The knifes speed allows this frequently seen cherry picking greedy scoreboard playstyle.
