There's an old friendly breeze that blows in the gulf of Mexico Somehow it always knows when I'm feelin' low So I'm gonna anchor down and wait till it comes around Leave the rest of the world behind, that's how I'll pass the time Till I catch my second wind, get back up and gain control again Find the strength I lost back when you stopped loving me I guess I'll just stay out here until I know the coast is clear Sit and watch the tide roll in till I catch my second wind There's a peace in the way I feel when the water's still And as long as it's calm out here I've got time to kill But as soon as it starts to stir I'll lose track of the way things were Float away on the open air, but I'm not going anywhere Till I catch my second wind, get back up and gain control again Find the strength I lost back when you stopped loving me I guess I'll just stay out here until I know the coast is clear Sit and watch the tide roll in till I catch my second wind

I met Darryl in 2001 at one of his shows at Coupland Dance Hall in Texas. A couple of months later in December, I saw him at the airport in Houston. He was headed somewhere to film a Christmas Special and I was headed to Knoxville, Tennessee. We chatted about my Mom passing away and I asked him if he would sing this for me. One of the guys who worked for him laughed (thinking Darryl would not play it) but he did. Just like out of a movie, he pulled out his guitar and sand this for me in Houston Hobby airport while we were both waiting for our flights. I will never forget it - ever.

Always been a lover of the ocean and have always sought out sitting by the sea when I've been at my lowest point in life. I've watched sunsets over the water, prayed to a higher power, and let go of heartache and confusion many times, and walked away with a sense of peace and tranquility that one could only describe as the "strength to catch my second wind". Thank you, Mr. Worley, for such a beautifully written masterpiece.
