They have to draw the line somewhere! Wouldn't want people to say they're a brand risk!

I wonder, does Lewis sometimes come into the office in the morning after a "Tom & Ben - After dark stream", then rewiews part of the stream and goes like "They spent 10 minutes talking about WHAT?!"

Ngl, having the 'Sips' part of it as an action that Data takes after talking about Tasha Yar.

Its not that they made a fuckbot; The point isn't "Why would you make a bot you could fuck" but "If you're going to make a lifelike robot why wouldn't you make it fuckable?"

i just love that the universal gesture for "im a robot" is to hold their hands out to the side and rock back and forth as they talk like robbie from lost in space lol ..nm that they are talking about a vastly more advanced form of AI, it still works

Aka the robby the robot gesture. I'm not certain that that's the origin of it, but it's an early high profile example.

They got it wrong. The line by Data is that he is fully functional. And it's funny. He can drink, he can eat, he doesn't have to do either of those things but he can do them and he can experience them. But our boys don't question that, they only question a different biological function. I know I sound like an obsessive trek geek now. But the point of data is that he was trying to understand the nature of what it is to be human. Humans eat, humans drink, and they also have below the waistline activities. The idea that they would train data with all the other information about human behavior but that one thing would be deleted from his memory because some people get uncomfortable about it doesn't make sense in the era in which it set.

You’re one of those dirty, uptight guys that banned Ben from the Star Trek fan club.
