Dear Lester. If I learned to back my camper 400+ feet down a hill in Eastern Kentucky into my driveway, I have every faith that you can put that RV into any space in that park. With at least one eye closed. 😁 The place is beautiful, y'all. I believe you've found a keeper. Love y'all! ❤️

I don't understand why Lester is so concerned about backing up the RV - he pulls and back up the cattle/horse trailer, he pulls/back the flat trailer he uses for hay, and other equipment and he doesn't seem worried about it. All he has to do is take his time and have Jami giving directions so he doesn't back into anything (like the power or septic). Looks like a great campground with lots of amenities to enjoy.

@@eleanormassaro5195 take it from someone who drove 18 wheelers with my hubby....it's much easier backing a longer trailer than a short one. The short ones want to turn too quickly and aren't as easy to maneuver.

It looks like a really nice campground. I think the big building could be a recreation center especially since it’s right next to the pool. I know the campgrounds we go to usually have one and they have different activities inside for socializing and for some where to go on rainy days. I’m sure you’ll learn to back up the camper because you do all that work with your farming trailers, so it’ll come easier to you then you think.

I thank a lot of campgrounds have those narrow roads into them. Some worse then others. I don't think anything can be as sketchy as that trail you took Jami on with that side-by-side though, Lester haha 😉. You'll do just fine, Lester 🙂. If you wind up backing in just use your phones and have Jami guide you in. That's what most rv'ers do anyway. I hate backing in too, but trust me if I can do it, you'll do great.

I loved this place, but I’m not the one pulling the RV behind me to get there. It did seem like a lovely spot for a wee get-away though. ☺️

It’s off season for RV’ing. That’s a really nice campground ❤. I think the covered sites are especially to keep the sun off the camper when it’s really hot in Texas. The fact that there are just a few campers there will make it easier for you to back into. The roads to get there are not nearly as bad as some we have been on. We had a 35’ 5th wheel camper.

You two are new to camping. The normal thing to do is this, "Hey Lester, let's go camping this weekend!😅" Truth is, I do understand you do need to know if they have the size requirements for your RV. But a quiet place in a more wooded area with no bar and swimming pool is actually a true camping experience. You want the serenity of the night, sitting by a small fire with a drink in hand that you brought enjoying each other's own company. (No loud noises from other campers, some drinking far more than they should.) One thing in a more quiet place though, you may need to have something handy (if you catch my drift) to keep away any animals. Have fun looking!

My family used to camp when I was a teenager. It got to the point that Dad would park the camper (Starcraft 8 sleeper tent trailer), level it up then step away. My sisters and I took over to get the tent part up, put into place and buckled down. Dad stood nearby just in case one of us needed him. Other fathers would watch then come over and compliment Dad for teaching us what to do. Such memories. At most campgrounds there is one or two large buildings that are used for dances, campground-wide potlucks, weddings and the like.

That's a beautiful place! Practice is the key. Take it to a parking lot the day before you go and practice turning and backing up into parking spots. It will help greatly. I just don't worry when backing into a camp spot. I go a little bit, get out and look, make a mental note (left a little, straighten the tires, etc., then adjust the steering wheel accordingly) get back in, back up a couple feet, adjust steering wheel, etc. I use a rock next to the door and look down to guage how far I'm going. Sometimes pull it forward and start over. It's all good. When you nail it, it's fabulous! PS. Truck driver dad taught me how to tow and park. The tricky part is turning the wheel the opposite way and learning when/how quickly to straighten. That is where practice helps.

Very nice campground. It's probably not as bad as you are thinking to get back there. I know you would be nervous driving that road, but you would just have to go slow. That's part of camping...slowing down & just enjoying the view. Check & see if there's another way in, though. Most places I've been to have a main road to get in, & then a back road like that. You could whip a trailer around for your animals and for your feed when you take your flat trailer there's no difference a trailer is a trailer and your wheel turns the same way for a camper or a trailer to make it turn. Don't doubt yourself You can do it and I can't wait for the day y'all pull in there. Much love 💜

I love parking our trailer. In our old house, we had a 30 ft. pontoon boat with a hard cabin on a 35 ft. trailer. It was very tall on that trailer and back then they didn't have back up cameras. It was taller than the garage and with only a foot room next to the eaves of the house and a foot of room on the other side where a cement block wall, half as tall as boat, to park in. When I backed up, I would pull across the street with the pickup in neighbors driveway, then start backing up. Hubby would stand out and guide me and watch to make sure no one drove down the street. I absolutely loved it. The neighbor would come out with coffee and watch me. No longer have the boat. 🙁 But have a regular camping trailer. I park it now. rarely get a pull through, but when we do it is fine. Lester, you just need to practice and I am sure you would do fine with Jaime guiding you or visa versa. before you know it, you would be an expert. 👌

It definitely looks like a beautiful place to camp at. And Lester, you back up your horse/cattle trailer and your flat bed trailer without any troubles. I’m sure you can back up the RV too. Maybe you should take it to LHL and practice a few times. You have all those chairs and tables for your parties, you could make a makeshift parking area with those and practice parking in between them. Jami can be your guide to help you keep it going straight. And pulling it down that long narrow road should be no problem, obviously people do it all the time. Just go slow and you’ll do fine. But that place looks like a beautiful place to go camping. I say yes do it!!!!!!! And it’s not too far from home.

Get used to long drive entrances with winding roads and often with hills. During that long entrance drive let go of the traffic and such you’re leaving behind and relax to enjoy the scenery. If you go to State parks you’ll find a wide variety of ease/difficulty getting in and out both with the entrance and camping spaces. The first place you stayed is not typical of most campgrounds. This one was closer to typical for areas without the rolling hills that we have in Missouri. You won’t always find campgrounds that look so freshly built and maintained. Many are much more rustic but can still have beautiful scenery. Check with AAA for a campground guide.

Now this campground is more like it! There's trees, grass, and a whole lot less concrete. Lester, you're worrying too much. If the entrance road was too narrow for RVs, they wouldn't have built a campground there. You'll be fine. If I can do it, you surely can too. Same goes for backing up. You can always install backup cameras on the RV, if that makes you more comfortable. I'm so envious and jealous of you two. RV'ing around the country was my husband and my retirement plan. Then cancer came, and took him from me before we even had the chance. Have a drink on me. As far as Florida camping goes, Governor DeSantis signed a recent law that allows Floridians to book sites up to 11 months in advance. Whereas non-residents will have to wait the additional 30 days. Our campgrounds were always so dang crowded, Floridians couldn't go camping if we wanted to. It was ridiculous! Anyway, have fun, drink, and be happy. Hugs to all...😊

I think you could do it Lester. Just make plans ahead to have someone at the resort back the RV in for you. Also, this time of year, I like the open spots where you could enjoy the sun on a cool morning. I liked all the amenities they offer too. Was looking for more of a lake vibe, didn’t see that. Is it just a little pond, maybe where the kids could fish? If you go to a state park somewhere close to you, they should have a nice lake in it. Maybe see if there is a huge parking lot where you could drive your RV to and practice backing up into a spot. I know when we had our RV, my husband preferred the drive thru spots, but that’s not always available. Good luck. Can’t wait to see you camping.

I like this one. Love the covered spots. Lester, practice at home. You will get it in no time. Check to see if someone there would park it for you. Just don’t let it keep y’all from going places. God’s blessings

We are different campers. We do State Parks, enjoy Ranger talks, mosey around at night meeting people. Other than that, we don't like private campgrounds. We prefer rustic camping in our trailer with septic, electric, and water. But we don't mind camping with dumping stations. Pull thru is extra, but nice. I (and the grown kids) walk away when dad backs our camper into our spot. We come back and the deed has been done (sometimes with experienced fellow campers help lol). We don't camp like you. And your enormous trailer will not fit in most So California State Parks. No Yosemite, no beach.... Private campgrounds for you.

That was an awesome Resort! I think the trouble you think you'd have getting in would be well worth it. They do have pull threws and tons of privacy, so you can film without worrying about being weirdos! Go for it, guys! Just do it!

Well eventually you have to learn to back up with the camper, if you can back your trailer with wood n such n animals you can back up the travel trailer

Most snow bunnies have already come down to the warmth of the coast.

when I've gone camping in the past (camper) I've only stayed at an RV park once. when crabbing we just lined them up on the beach with the tent campers in between. another time we just parked it in a cow pasture off the highway.

Try this place twice....now while it's calm, then next spring/summer...u might feel differently when place is packed. But it is a gorgeous area...the big white building is probably an area for meet ups: pool tables, arcades, maybe even a little library... etc etc etc.

Could be a place for people to use as a winter home as well
