This month's guest on Music Discovery is the very talented singer song-writer Daudi Matsiko. The Nottingham based, British-Ugandan artist joined Georgie Rogers on Soho Radio off the back of his debut album release The King of Misery.
He and Georgie talk about articulating grief, about embracing the misery in music, going down week long self-production rabbit holes and about a horrific story that informed the track Derby's Dose. Trigger Warming: sexual abuse, racism.
What a pleasure it was to hear more about the making of The King of Misery, an album that personally meant a lot to Georgie during a difficult couple of months. Despite the heavy subject matter the conversation was really lovely!
Listen back to more of Georgie's programmes on Mixcloud with guests including Alice Russell, Joy Anonymous, Art School Girlfriend, Cubicolor, Pigeon and many more.
