I was just listening to the smartless podcast and their guest was Michael Lewis, towards the end of the show he spoke about the loss of his daughter Dixie and how Dave Eggers came over with food and refused to let me go through it alone, and it reminded me of his book 'A Heartbreaking work of Staggering Genius" and I realized that He is an author that walks the walk when it comes to lessons learned from loss and grief and that grief is the price we pay for love.

He wrote the title as a joke and thought it was hilarious so he kept it. He thought the book had a 50/50 chance to succeed and would be torn to shreds. He doesn't remember what he wrote and doesn't like go back and read it again. He has some weird body language where he scratches/covers his mouth whenever he receives praise. Welcome to postmodernism, where you can write what you personally think is crap, but instead everyone calls you a genius.

It is true genius, this thing, and has nothing to do with postmodernism. It’s called super intelligent humor.
