I’m a just-turned 36yo Bachelor who doesn’t want kids and won’t date a single mom so I have to ask the lady up front relatively quickly (2nd or 3rd date) if she wants kids of her own. It saves a lot of time and grief cause just as DR says, if you don’t want the same things, the relationship or even marriage won’t work.

Amen. I'm on the opposite side to you, but agree totally with the mindset. I'd rather be 100% upfront about what each of us want and expect than either cause or be the subject of pain further down the line. If it's not meant to be, there's no harm in staying friends.

I wish that “all you need is love” was an accurate statement. Sadly, you can be madly in love, and have different views and life goals, to the point where it just doesn’t work out. Even now, I still love the mother of my child, but I just could not remain married to her. I tried everything I could, but we never did premarital counseling, and by the time I suggested marriage counseling it was too late. Do the counseling and don’t be afraid to decide you’re not ready for marriage. There’s no rush, sometimes you just need to ask tough questions that may determine your compatibility 🤷♂️

I was a sahm for the last 3 yrs... But i started serving tables as a part time job a few times a week... Just to get out of the house and Im making a little extra cash on the side but using it to create our savibgs fund and sinking funds its not much but Im so happy im able to put that money aside for the family... And I know my husband is happy tpo because his entore check pays all the bills and theres barely any leftover by then end of the month... Its not a lot of money but a little extra cash is amazing... And we put $25 dollars aside every week and every two weeks we go out somewhere nice with our two little kids... And if theres leftover cash we will put it back in its envelope to add to the next outing... Like i sad i know its not much compared to a ton of people but im so happy we have that tiny little income as a family blessing at the moment. 💞💞💞

After five years of marriage i found out the one thing that makes marriage difficult is financial struggle, its not like my husband and i aren’t making money it’s just we barely have time for each other and there’s no amusement or new event it’s just work and the kids and that was fine but i wanted more..then i heard of a financial advisor on the radio who basically makes money for me and right now i have close to 100grand with her in my portfolio. now we pay for our vacation without breaking a sweat or losing sleep

My ex wife left days within receiving a half million dollar inheritance from her father that I had no intention of using for our life, had no interest in being named on, and really wanted nothing to do with. All I cared is that she used it in a way that honored her father. She left, ruined me financially, and immediately her mother bought her a house on property.

0:20 Love is such a misunderstood concept. The honeymoon phase is not love. Love is long term commitment to a relationship & a willingness to prioritize someone else's needs before your own. People should stop viewing marriage as an emotional thing but as a business relationship with an emotional component. I wouldn't start a business relationship with someone unless I knew their finances and how they handle crisis/problems

A good indicator of how they will be in marriage to you is how there parents are in marriage with each other. People take on the roles in marriage that they are use to seeing for the most part. If someone is financially responsible before they enter the marriage I doubt they are going to all of a sudden do a 360. If they have major debt issues it's going to be difficult, unless they come to the understanding on their own. I just don't think people change that much they just start to get real once they are married and feel comfortable being themselves.
