It's fun to listen to Bowie mature...in the 70s he seemed bashful almost in interviews. But in this interview, he begins to really be himself, and an adult. His confidence and self-assurance is growing. I believe, leaving LA and quitting drugs was a catalyst. It's a real joy to see someone mature before your very eyes. I've enjoyed the comments people have made. One in particular speaks to me: I was never really even aware of DB until a few months ago, when there was nothing else much to do but watch videos...just out of curiosity, I watched Ziggy. I was prepared to laugh, but instead was mesmerized by this guy and the more I watched his talent the more I liked it, then loved it. It's the first time I've ever known someone to die without ever having known of them when they were alive. It's the weirdest feeling I've ever had. I've lost parents and friends and knew 'of' president Kennedy being assasinated, a terrible feeling, but not like reading about Bowie. No matter what all I read, it doesn't capture for me the essence of what he was all about.

I was 13 and those who had the chance to live this period with David are the luckiest people in this world
