ph8349, I am so sorry for your loss. My daughter Birka didn't tell about her wishes regarding music to be played in her remembrance service. She silently went away and took her own life in the midst of norwegian nature 09.09.23. Since she was a big Bowie-fan, Absolute Beginners or Heroes would have suited well. Years ago she had drawn that avatar I am using here. I will miss her to the end of my days.😭

What an amazing song. Those lyrics cut deep like surgeons, you really feel what he's saying about being naive and not knowing what the proper next step is. David Bowie's music was a transcending element of beauty, art, feelings and pure balls that no singer has today!!!!!

Lost my beautiful wife in 2001. I thought I had no tears left, but after the sad news of David I realise I do have tears...lots of tears. Been playing "Heroes" a lot and welling up. Don't ask why but I only just found this extraordinary performance, and the emotive lyrics, and astonishing musicianship and passion in David's performance, and whilst reading all the comments have reduced me to a blubbering wreck! We are from the same time, and those halcyon days of the sixties are with me forever......xx

Just reading your post Rio. I hope things are better for you today. Brillant song this from Bowie. Music has a way of bringing our emotions out and has a way taking us to a time of when things were special in our life. Be strong tho it's not easy. But, we will all meet again one day after we have departed this life. For sure!!!

This song is a kind of healing for me: whenever there are so many negative news about our little planet, violence & war & other murders are reported, which makes me feel sad & blue... Then I listen to this song and for a while it's beautiful again .. praying for a brighter tomorrow.. feeling like I am the reincarnation of Ziggy? ✨️🪄✨️🛸✨️🪂✌🏻😎

This song reminds me of my wife. It was her favorite song before she lost battling cancer, I wish I could change the hands of time, life could be so unfair most times, but sometimes I wonder why bad things always happen to good people

@@AndyArnold-uz5yo I'm very sorry for you, Andy. When asked why a lot of bad things seem to happen to good people, I've heard a lot of "ideas" that I'm sure you already too? Starting with the book of Job in the Old Testament, about karma, or everyone gets as much as they can bear... Blah blah blub... I don't believe in any of them. But music is always good medicine for me.🌻✌🏻😊

Bowie sings with such joy and passion and the band behind him (with the awesome Mike Garson) are superb.
