I was introduced to his music around 1977. Such a great influence ❤. Bowie was the entertainment for my first rock concert, early 1978. I worked really hard to get permission to go. I had to behave perfectly. Not even an eye roll. I babysat to raise the money, and had to get all A’s. He was so worth it.

@@drsuessl I bought my first Bowie L.P when I was 12 years old and I have every official Bowie release + loads more. I saw him in concert in 1971 as Ziggy and painted my school havasack to look like the cover of Alladin Sane, my sister thought I was mental. My mate Eddy loved Marc Bolan & T.Rex ( to be honest, so did I) and couldn't understand why I loved Bowie, but he never painted his havasack. I'm 66 now and I'm collecting Bowie's half speed remastered albums and they are just truley wonderful. I just hope I live long enough to collect them all.

How could you not be immediate friends with someone like David Bowie. He's the reason Tina Turner's career got a resurgence. Instead of going to his own album release party (or something very similar to that) he saw that she was playing a club in NY and wanted to gonsee her perform. While backstage he told her this club playing was bs, and that she needed for the world to hear her, & that he helped her do.
