Bloody hell. He’s back already. Another blinding Nacho vid to blow the cobwebs, confusion and clutter out of a morbidly obtuse Monday afternoon. So, so good, this subtly improved version, Nacho. Bless you and thank you again; this is a fitting tribute to the consummate and absolutely unrivalled Dennis Davis. I had no idea Sterling Campbell was a Padawan to Jedi Master Davis but now you mention it, of course it makes complete sense, Sterling is a total monster on the drums. “Heroes” is such a banger of an LP and the Isolar II tour - with the DAM rhythm-trio in command of its musical core - is the perfect manifestation of its live interpretation. Of course, as you say, the whole line-up was overwhelmingly accomplished. And Bowie in perfect disposition & voice for the performative elucidation of the new material. Yes, it’s been forty years, well, forty-six now FFS; but we Bowie freaks, just as we did on “Heroes”’ release in 1977, still feel a frisson of exhilaration when we see incredible work like this. We frikkin love you, Nacho.

When I was younger, it was the brilliant scribblings of Fripp and Belew that blew me away from this era and directly after. Now it is the rhythm section that thrills me. It is the sense of propulsion that Davis brings to this. You've captured it perfectly. It's a triumph.

Absolutely- the ''three gentlemen from New York'' as DB calls them at the Nassau gig really were the business and likewise I've only come to appreciate them properly latterly.

Wow! I was thinking about the great drummer Dennis Davis was while listening to this and then I read the description! Yeah! He was a great drummer and it really shows on "Blackout". And thank you once again for this great editing work. A joy to watch and hear!

Amazing work by Nacho as is always expected and appreciated... I love how Simon House and Belew expand the sound on this version - it seems even more insane and angular... Davis' drums... the DAM band persistent driving funkiness under it alll... so wonderful.

Wow, god bless Nacho Video for these amazing videos. Another great one, in service of a true standout Bowie track, and probably the best rhythm section he ever had (with apoloties to Gail Ann Dorsey, who is also amazing). This edit is so good, I legit thought it was audio from the same performance as the video til you said otherwise in the description. Phenomenal!

Brett Morgan, Indie Wire Magazine: [...] „It’s 1978, from Earl’s Court. Bowie fanatics know that that show was filmed but had never seen the light of day. So when I walked into the vault, the first time I saw stacks of 35 mm cans that said “stage,” “What’s that?” And they’re like, “Oh, David lost interest.” And it’s been sitting here for 40 freakin' years. And the film (Moonage Daydream) used to end with a 12-minute performance from that show of “Station to Station.” Sean Penn was the first person to see the film. One note was to cut that out, that I had said everything I needed to say by then. So we went back. Not just because he said it, it actually resonated. He’s the only person who had any major editorial input.”
