Who would believed that David Bowie pass away, but his songs are immortal just like him. I like this song because of it’s lyrics and the seventies sound. Bowie had an unique voice and style which I really loved so much. RIP !

I was just looking up this song. It was a bonus track on the 2002 Heathen album, and now it's on the posthumous release Toys with two versions. Nice to hear the different versions

Thanks to people outside who have liked my comments referring to David Bowie. He was truly my idol. I loved everything he did and I saw him so many time in concerts, watching and loving all those changes and individual persona. I appreciate and welcome every style of David Bowie. What a star he was! There will no one like him anymore. Rest In Peace !

There’s a man back a-ways Who believes at where he is And there’s a girl Up ahead who says she knows And the street overflows With the folk who understand But for the guy who can’t be seen He’s the Shadow Man And the Shadow Man is close at hand Take a turn and see his smile Made of nothing but loneliness Just take a walk and be a friend To the Shadow Man You can call him Joe, you can call him Sam You should call and see who answers For he promises to come running, guided by the truth But the Shadow Man is really you Look in his eyes and see your reflection Look to the stars and see his eyes He’ll show you tomorrow, he’ll show you the sorrows Of what you did today You can call him foe, you can call him friend You should call and see who answers For he knows your eyes are drawn to the road ahead And the Shadow Man is waiting round the bend Oh, the Shadow Man Ohooooo oooo Shadow man, shadow man It’s really you, it’s really you, it’s really you He’s the shadow man Oh yeah Shadow man

David Bowie: The Shadow Man 1971 Rare Outtakes 1971 Studio Outtakes By Past Masters On Gold Disc Released 1989 The sound quality is very good. Most of the songs are “Hunky Dory” outtakes, or for the rumored cancelled album that should have been released between “Hunky Dory” and “Ziggy Stardust”!

Just about to write that for Tmt890. You beat me by 8 years. I'd have preferred 5 years! Actually I thought David was still the singer but Freddi was going to be a front man, sort of miming to David's voice.
