This was extremely moving last night. Dave is such a humble, thankful, respectful and honest person. How cool to use the recording of Chris at the end. Watch, Cry, like, comment and show Dave how special he is.

Nice of Cook to pay tribute, good performance too. He did a surprisingly good cover of "Man in the Box" years ago and these good performances show he's more than an American Idol contestant.

In my Grandma's last few months, we always listened to David Cook's first album, so he'll always have a special place in my heart, and now I find out a vocalist I respect very highly wrote one of the best songs on that album? And he just passed? Wow. Well thanks for the upload.

whatever happened to this guy? Playing clubs now I guess.
@wehoscott

No, not just clubs. Depending on where he is sometimes he plays theaters, sometimes casinos, sometimes festivals, and sometimes well known clubs - in LA he plays Troubadour (not too shabby). In Philly he sells out World Cafe and in NYC he sells out 1000-person venues. I will say this.. as a fan it's great to have more intimate shows. He's not an arena guy and that's fine. He usually sells out and makes a decent living at this. He easily funded his last album on PledgeMusic. Met the goal quickly and then raised well beyond. That's the new reality for musicians today and I guess it works for him. Cook also writes music for other artists (his music has charted for David Nail & Frankie Negron).

Also his charity work. He and his fans have helped raise a million dollars to find a cure for brain cancer via Race for Hope and other ABC2 activities; plus other philanthropy and his annual participation in the Chris Evert Tennis fundraiser.

This is cool, but why do people have the compulsive need to sing along at the top of their lungs at every single concert and show? People aren't there to listen to you.
@patdills5292
7 жыл бұрын
mercuryman67 because people ARE there to enjoy the music, and if they want to sing along to help them experience the moment, then Damon it, SING, SCREAM, ENJOY!
@teenie36214

mercuryman67 Most performers encourage it. For David in particular on other normal occasions when he performs Light On he lets the audience sing the part at 5:51-5:59.
@mercuryman67

teenie36214 I'm not referring to the parts of concerts where the crowd is supposed to sing. I mean the large amounts of people who act like they are in their car or their shower for the whole concert. personally I want to see an artist or band to hear them perform live, not to be drowned out by all of the people in the audience who don't give a crap about their fellow concert goers and aren't even really listening to the artist. Eddie Vedder for instance, can't even change his own songs live because people sing right over him the version they are used to. Everyone is so selfish these days.
@teenie36214
7 жыл бұрын
mercuryman67 I see your point. Personally I don't mind if anyone around me sings along at a concert as long as they don't sing while taking a video and post it to KZitem which thankfully isn't the case in this video.
