God what a beautiful moment in time. To know the turbulent history of this arguably greatest American band of their era, and to see this expression of mutual love, is to understand the profound healing power of music. Chris is in fine form here, and everyone knows that Crosby's the greatest high harmony singer in rock history.

I agree. I would only add one thing. It was a time of turmoil and disagreement based on experience and age. Because of that, it allowed bad things. I worry it is revisiting now and IDK why the ones that suffered from that will allow this to continue. Right and wrong just is because it is and the lady of justice wears a blindfold to convey the same purpose or meaning. If you care about proper good and bad balance, then it is within you to do what you think is proper. IDK IAM not you it is the same argument today and yesterday and I am tired of ignorance by choice. Ignorance is ok if life is that way, but ignorance by choice is deplorable

I just saw the Ed Sullivan Show when the Byrds performed this song, and Chris Hillman didn't even have a microphone. Why didn't they let him sing on the original song? I assumed he didn't have a very good voice, but it's still great now so he must have been even better in the 60's!

It's nice that Hillman and Crosby were able to briefly rekindle their musical roots side by side onstage for this classic performance. @@fanmaxis3004 True. Hillman was the peacemaker in the original lineup of The Byrds. Pretty much everyone in the band got along with him. He and McGuinn still get along to this day, and even got together in 2018 to go on a tour to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of The Byrds' Country-Rock pioneering album Sweetheart of the Rodeo. Crosby was upset that neither McGuinn nor Hillman informed him about this supposed "Byrds reunion" to which Crosby was not invited to take part in. McGuinn and Hillman informed Crosby that the tour was to celebrate Sweetheart of the Rodeo's half-century, which was recorded more than a year after Crosby was fired from The Byrds (by none other than Hillman and McGuinn).
