Zoek hulp, spreek. Laat je niet leiden door schuld. Of door schaamte, spreek. Vind je stem, spreek. Roep, huil. Laat je horen. Blijf er niet - alleen - mee zitten. Kijk rond jou. Kijk om je heen. Je bent niet alleen. Spreken helpt. ----- David, I think what you are doing here is impressively brave: you are raising awareness about the demons that seem to plague more and more people. Breaking the taboo and making addiction and depression negotiable is essential in a society that teaches us of pretending to be better than how we feel. I myself have had my share too, of addictions, of depression, isolation,.... It could only change by admitting it, accepting that I was suffering from it and then seeking, admitting and receiving help. That was a slow and sometimes difficult process. But it also became my greatest victory: overcoming my addictions and learning to deal with my feelings, even though they hurt tremendously, even though I was alone at the time. Even more, completing my studies in psychotherapy and being able to help not only myself but also others changed me profoundly as a man and as a man, as a therapist. You may feel alone, but you are not alone. You don't have to go it alone, whether you are young or old. Find your voice, speak up. Seek help, speak up. Don't be guided by guilt. Or by shame, speak. Find your voice, speak. Cry out, cry. Make yourself heard. Don't sit there - alone - with it. Look around you. Look around you. You are not alone. Speaking up helps.

Sorry Jan, so true, but the advise is not helpful. A lot of times sedation is the only way to handle the demon of depression. On the long run it will turn out that your temporary friend is another harsh demon, but a lot of times the pain is too big too handle. And an addiction is better than stepping out of this life I guess. (sorry if I offend someone, it is so complicated)
@hammedburgerOG
@@papatestnaamtestnaam5758 How is this not helpful? Sedation is a way to cope, but definitely not a healthy one... I'm not to big on defending alcohol and enabling it to become an addiction. Nor am I saying that whatever demons someone might be fighting are easy to overcome in any way, but numbing yourself is NOT the way to deal with it.
@peterzon9303
@@hammedburgerOG it is defenitly not the good way to code. Periode. But it is a very understandable way to cope when it feels that all hope is lost. It is important not to judge an addict. But my point was that 'don't do drugs' is a good advice, but it is not helpfull when you hit rockbottom. When you're, you just don't want to feel the paint and emptyness anymore. No matter wat advice you get. Of course drugs are making the problems way bigger end harder
