@M - what the fugg does the popularity or unpopularity of soccer have to do with this Hank Aaron clip and the original comment that was made, under which you chose to post this soccer bull? They can both thank God Mickey didn't take care of himself and, got hurt too much. Mays himself admitted Mickey had more power and speed than him, that he thought he could do some things better than Mickey. But still the ham Mays didn't mention that Mickey had 15 operations all over his body by the time he called it quits and, he[Mays[ was mostly heatlhy. Mickry even grounded into fewer double plays and, ended up with a higher base stealing pct 80pct to 77 pct though Mickey had 7 operations on both knees. You gotta be kidding, Mantle was beyound anybody. Gee how funny how they left out when Hank Mickey was better than he and, Mays. It stinks. Get real man! MICKEY MANTLES' BIGGEST FAN.
@kencummings953
5 жыл бұрын
Stephen Mantle had more physical talent than any baseball player who ever lived. It wasn't his injuries or lifestyle that prevented him from reaching Aaron and May's numbers, it was his strikeouts. He cuts his career strikeouts in half and his numbers blow right past Hank or Willie or anyone else of his era.

Henry Aaron played over 20 seasons in the big leagues and never once struck out 100 times. You could count him to play every single game, bat .300 with 40 home runs and knock in 100 runs every single year, and you knew he was going to field his position. He doesn't get hardly any credit as a fielder because he wasn't as flashy as Willie Mays or Roberto Clemente, but he played Right Field with speed and range and a strong, accurate throwing arm - he actually finished his career with more outfield assists than the great Willie Mays in roughly the same amount of games. Consistent, durable, reliable, and clutch - I would argue that he, and not Mays, was the MVP of his era and maybe of all-time. Also, I've read his book "I had a Hammer" which I would recommend anyone to read, sports fan or not sports fan. In it, there are some of the letters he received, and let me tell you it's a fucking tragedy and an embarrassment and I can also say that no player, not Bonds, not Roger Maris, has been under the kind of pressure that he faced except possibly the great Jackie Robinson.
