Just think; David's played all these roles in movies and tv, made 4 records (and even sang in a movie-"Three Bites of the Apple"), did some documentaries, narrated some records, cassettes, and CD for Caedmon, and been on "NCIS" for 16+ seasons and what does he get? No Emmy's, no Star on Hollywood, and no Knighthood! He deserves more than the actors who've done less get. I hope he gets more before it's too late.

Go-go girl thing back then. I had my dad drive me down to Sears so I could get some boots like hers. Already had a shorter skirt than my mother allowed me to wear to school and fishnet hose. Unfortunately, they only had taupe-coloured, pull- on boots. Comfortable, but the heel wore out and the hose tore as well-no pantyhose yet. As for the skirt, as soon as I wore it the next day, everyone else decided they were out of style and wore Maxi's (The long skirts) the following day.

It's amusing that Ilya is supposedly so scornful of a singing career, since I wouldn't be surprised if this duet actually was released as a commercial record. From the '50s into the '70s, TV stars were constantly pushed into making records, whether or not they could sing. And some of those TV stars actually had success as singers too. I like that Nancy's wig remains well-groomed and bouffant, even as a kidnap victim.
@virginiaconnor8350

David could sing, but he preferred to play an instrument or conduct like his dad. As to who can't sing, he just made a Christmas CD. De Kelley (Bones McCoy) was right when he heard Shatner sing. "Bill, you can't sing."

A needlepointer-Erica Wilson, I believe, named a son Illya. A cousin of mine's son also named their Old English Sheepdog Illya. More fitting for that OESD as he was mostly white-with what looked like a black turtleneck pattern and black tail area-like pants, with blue eyes, and pale greyish ears. He lived to be 12.

@JoelandtheBots Tee hee! Still not sure if it was deliberate. But I owe David an apology: on reflection I think he really was playing that guitar in the scenes where he's facing the camera (he was certainly capable of it) - maybe it's the bad sound synchronisation that made it seem that he wasn't. Both of his sons are professional guitarists and they must have got it from somewhere!

In the new movie, "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." was the writer trying to imply that Illya was gay? Somebody did that with the "Starsky and Hutch" movie. The tv series never implied that any of them were gay, just young and workaholics. I had the feeling that Illya, like David, was shy and not ready for a real relationship yet. Napoleon seemed less shy with the ladies, but even Illya had some romantic times. Besides, Mr. Waverly probably discouraged too much fraternising (no PDOA in other words). Guess I've seen too many K/S and I/N fanzines at conventions. Not a prude, it's just that I don't like writers changing the characters into something they weren't before ( like making the Equalizer black). That's like saying Sheldon Cooper is autistic (or has Asperger'Syndrome).
