I really love this song. I first listened to this song when I was in elementary school. I didn't speak English back then, but the song proyects such a positive vibe that just struck in my mind for years. Eventually i learned english and realized how positive the liricks were. Years went by and I wanted to buy the record again since I lost it. Couldn't find it on CD but I found the song for download on Google music a few years ago, not the original from 1978 but a re recorded version which is quite close to the original. So now I have it in my phone. I would've preferred the original though, but I think is no longer available due to record company's legal issues or something, I guess. Cheers

I was in the fifth grade with this song came out, along with ABC sitcom of the same title. It was about a young Italian-American man who's dream in life was to become a disco dancer. It was also springtime. Great memories.

Just crossed the bridge where that last steps just clicks and everything falls into place! This happened to me last night when I was practicing French, I have been on this journey of learning a 3rd language, so I went full force at lockdown during the pandemic. And last night just like that! I am still studying but it was so much fun! I was actually writing as I would hear the sentences played out in English and I would just know how to write them. Pronunciation, spelling etc it all just came together! And as I finished the lesson for the night, I got so emotional I teared up and this magical song, just popped in my head! Thank you.

Também curti bastante este hit que no Brasil o mesmo fez sucesso na reta final de 1979, apesar de a mídia divulgar que o ano de lançamento desta música é de 1978.

THIS IS ONE HARD SONG TO FIND, EXCEPT ON SUPER HITS IF THE SEVENTIES CD VOLUME 24, THE ORIGINAL BY DAVID NAUGHTON HAS A MORE NATURAL FLOW AND JUST SOUNDS BETTER WHEN HE SANG IT, THE GOOD OL DAYS OF THE 70S, I JUST HOPE HE RECOVERED FROM AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON. GNARLY! I SAW THIS SONG ON THE ABC TV SPECIAL PLAYBOYS ROLLER DISCO PAJAMA PARTY 1979 GOOGLE, THE PLAYBOY BUNNIES WERE JAMMIN IN THIS ONE. 1979 WHERE'D YA GO? LOL

I just watched Meatballs last night, and heard this song. It is a timeless classic, but I had no idea who performed it. I was surprised to learn it is David Naughton from American Werewolf in London. I had no idea he was a singer? Kris L. CocKayne

"Makin' It" is a 1979 pop song performed by David Naughton, his first and, to date, only musical release. It was the theme song for the television show of the same name, in which Naughton starred. It was written by Freddie Perren and Dino Fekaris. It was released as both a 7-inch single and a 12-inch single, with an instrumental version of the song titled "Still Makin' It" as the B-side.
