It's listening to music like this that i understand how Mozart did it. he ascended into heaven and listened to the angels--possibly more than once, since surely he was always welcome.

Heartwarming concert! Apart from being the brilliant violinist, Yehudi Menuhin is so symphatetic as a conductor... Another version with these soloists is still better: Mozart Sinfonia concertante - Oistrakh/Oistrakh/Vienna - David Oistrakh conducts. Especially the Andante is unlike other versions: the beginning is more peaceful, tempo a bit slower, it gives to the time for each note to have full feeling and meaning, the orchestras fortissimos are unbroken, majestetic and powerful (David Oistrakh accentuates the violins, leaving the bass and cello to play a lesser role). It's just so consoling, unbelievably, heartbreakingly beautiful

Тем не менее музыка превосходная, исполнители великолепны, спасибо за предостваленное удовольствие солистам, дирижеру и оркестру. without any doubt, both soloists are excellent instrumentalists. The great David has a very deep viola sound. Even a stool will sound in his hands, he feels so much the perspective of sound and nuances. Igor is holding up quite well. But I have questions about the selected strokes in the first part, I mean detache. The dense and wide choice chosen by the performers in this case somewhat deprives the playfulness and lightheartedness characteristic of Mozart in his brilliant and “light” Allegro. But maybe this is just my personal idea of the style of the stroke... I would play more leggiero. And then the overall tempo of the Allegro would be livelier. Nevertheless, the music is excellent, the performers are excellent, thanks to the soloists, conductor and orchestra for the pleasure they provided.

I wouldn't be so drastic, Yeahudi Menuhin, apart from being a brilliant violinist (though not as great as David Oistrak) he is symphatetic as a conductor. But then I suggest that you listen to Mozart Sinfonietta concertante - Oistrakh/Oistrakh/Vienna. David Oistrakh conducts himself. Especially the Andante is unlike every other version. It begins more peacefully; the first three notes are equally accentuated. And, for instance, the orchestras three fortissimos are unbroken, majestetic and powerful because David Oistrakh accentuates the violins leaving the bass and cellos to a lesser role. The tempo is a bit slower, giving time and thought to each note. The result is heartbreakingly beautiful, warmly consoling - just so wonderful... very often I play and replay the beginning of David Oistrakh's solo - it fills me with awe...
