www.SebastianDi... - Popper's fourth etude is probably one of the harder ones. I had to be extra careful with my tendons while practicing this nasty little piece because it requires you to use your left hand in unnatural positions a lot of the time. What's more there’s a good amount of quick position changes all over the fingerboard in this etude which makes perfect intonation pretty hard to achieve. Interestingly, in all these Popper studies you get to practice a lot to play in the same position over the strings too, which is excellent for developing geographical awareness of the notes that are available in any given position you might find yourself in in your daily life as a cellist.
The "Popper Experience" is the follow-up-project to the Piatti Project, which took place from 2014 to 2018. Like then, I will learn all etudes from scratch and record them as I get ahead. Subscribe to my channel if you want to be updated with the videos as they come out. Give the videos a thumbs up if you think they are good.
