Just 'cause this is an unusual, obscure recording by David, I thought I'd share it on my yt channel. I only just learned of its existence recently when someone mentioned it in a fan group post.

DINNERTIME BLUES, by David Roback
You'd very carefully cut the wing from the body
And you'd hold this knife like it was a pencil
And then these movies would come on the screen
And you'd see all these bodies falling down to the ground
And then you'd see all these people lying on the ground dead
And then you'd read books that would freak you out
About weird things that would happen

-Ethan James produced the track and created and performed the music and effects, including tape loops, synthesizer, and drum machine.
Ethan James owned Radio Tokyo studio, a house converted to a recording studio in Venice,
California. David's Rainy Day album project was recorded there. David produced it. Ethan was
engineer, and also played instruments on several tracks.
David recorded and produced a collection of songs by Going Home, Hope Sandoval's and Sylvia Gomez' duo at Radio Tokyo studio around 1985 - 1986 (never released).
Ethan played some instruments on the 1985 Opal e.p. Northern Line. He was engineer on Rain Parade's first album, Emergency Third Rail Power Trip, 1983, when David was in the band. Earlier, Ethan was keyboards player in the 1960s band Blue Cheer.
The album is described as: "one of several poetry-focused projects curated by [author/journalist] Harvey Kubernik."
There are many various artists contributing tracks, including poet Charles Bukowski, and musicians Steve Wynn, Exene Cervenka, John Doe, Susanna Hoffs, Henry Rollins, Mike Watt, Dave Alvin, and others.
