Did he die at Fort Sumner? Not according to the folks at Hico, Texas.

@@jakeroberts7435 So the story goes, somebody else was buried in Billy’s grave in NM. Billy escaped and moved to Hico, Texas. Lived out his days as Brushy Bill Roberts and died in 1950. His grave is in the Hamilton, Texas cemetery with a stone inscription over the tombstone “Billy the Kid.” He supposedly asked the governor of NM for a pardon in 1948.

@@alankoemel3168 Thanks, wasn't sure if it was about Brushy Bill. Another thing overlooked by the Kids saga, he was fighting a brotherhood. All of his opponents were Masons, the Sante Fe ring, the governor, Pope was high ranking, and Pat Garret. Don't know if its any relavence but its recorded fact, people can actually Google it. All the worlds a stage

@@jakeroberts7435 I used to live in the Hico area. Several years ago, there was an attempt to use DNA testing to settle the argument. Don’t remember if it was the family or the judge that was against it (or maybe the Chamber of Commerce lol). Anyway it never happened.
