I’ve been waiting for this. Toby Kebble and Andy Serkis deserve all of the praise. Koba was an amazing villain.

Between this and War For The Planet of The Apes, and especially hearing Matt Reeves talk during the first DC Fandome, I knew Batman was in absolutely amazing hands. He’s such a gifted and passionate storyteller. I’ll never forget watching this movie in theaters for the first time. That summer was this, The Winter Soldier, X-Men Days of Future Past, and Guardians of The Galaxy. That was a hell of a time.

Watching this over I realized Caesar and Koba are similar to Professor X and Magneto, which made for an amazing story dynamic between the two. Caesar believes not all humans are bad and they can live in peace (although segregated) and Koba wants to wipe them out because of the pain they can and will cause.

Matt reeves was the one to say to fox to keep going with Caesars story because of how good it was in rise. I think fox just wanted to remake the original.What a movie this is love it.

Andy is so right, this movie is one of my favorite movies period, it's an incredible movie about humanity and one of the sides isn't even human. The CGI is timeless, parts of this movie look better than any CGI you can find today. The ability to emote so much emotion, complexity and story beats with almost no dialogue is a masterclass in storytelling. The characters are all fantastically written and like they said you see every side which is a great sign of good writing. And then on top of that there is just amazing set design, cinematography, lighting, etc... If you make a list of the things that make movies, movies this movie gets a 9-10/10 in every aspect which is difficult as it, but even more difficult considering a majority of it is from the perspective of CGI apes who use sign language.

This movie franchise is like a revenge fantasy of mine. I’ve never been an animal activist but hate what we do to chimps. Elon musk has just been accused of animal cruelty and chimps have died in the development of neuralink. I wouldn’t mind Koba tearing him apart.

Legit one of my favorite movies of all time. And i was late to the party. Thought the first movies trailer looked stupid and ignored the series until the release of the third movie, where i watched one and two back to back and i couldnt believe how stupid i felt when i watched it. Koba is one of the greatest mo ie villains of all time, amazing performances from both Kebble and Serkis.

I'm curious, are we ever going to get a true Planet of the Apes rank and review? I don't even mean the newer ones. I mean all of them, even the old school Charlton Heston movies. I would love the gangs take on those.. I mean it's not really a Matt Reeves trilogy as he didn't direct the first one.... They're really grasping to connect this to the Batman. That's all I'm saying lol
@ToothofaShark

Honestly, most likely not. Unless there's a new Planet of the Apes movie coming out or it can be tied to another new mainstream movie, they're not going to do the originals.
