Have you considered a polytunnell/s on your hard standing area for local storage / solar kiln / active drying Archie? Using tbem here in wet old Ireland and couldn't manage without em!

i dry all my wood in a polytunnell works a treat, must have breatheable sides and a whirly bird on top to stop moisture build up

Definitely net the logs Archie, very impressed by the size of rounds that you were processing through the 400, It's a good idea to set your goal on getting the 800 nets into the 2nd storage location. keep up the good work.

Hi Archie, what if you focused on the vented bags until Depot 1 and Depot 2 are filled? It would give the wood a little extra time to dry. The second option would be to fill additional cages now, fill Depot 2, and then make the nets. I'd focus all on production now and nets later. It's only a suggestion. No one knows your business better than you. Keep up the great videos. I have watched them all!

Have you thought about a polytunnel for drying in?

They are good but very ugly. I also think a second barn is more versatile. But yes logs will probably dry better in a polly.

Great operation you have. Can you have the palazzo and the fuel wood going at the same time time to increase production.?

Like the videos could you not build a temporary structure to store the bags on your own land to save time and money?

I thought it was completely automated. Like you were able to do other tasks while it’s cutting and splitting.

I have seen high production products (Dyna or the Cord King CS2040). You have to sit/stand there while manually moving the logs and cutting and then splitting. I have not seen anything close to the Fuelwood that lets you use a remote control and not have to sit or stand operating the round cutter and firewood splitter with conveyors. Its so fun to watch. Its like watching a game of "where can I fix the bottlenecks." Looking forward to how his farm improves.

Why dont you put a laser right after the rounds are made so it can alarm if its too big?

Maybe fill up all the totes first before you start netting...that way everything is drying out in the summer sun for as long as possible. I wish you had a better way to switch bags and totes without stopping the factory so its as productive as possible but that would probably need more conveyors.

Yes I could get the japa roller cleaner and when changing the bag keep filling that while it’s off.
@draconisle

@@oakfarmfirewood That sounds great. You probably would just have to remove the cleaner attached to the end of the Fuelwood Factory Conveyor since the Japa would clean it anyway. Just wondering if you would have enough room to clean out the container that would catch all the odd bits and ends under the Japa.
