Is it weird that I found understanding the subdividing part hard there for a minute? Just playing the fingerstyle and arpeggio was easier at first. Then I rewatched it and now the subdiving makes more sense and I saw how the theory connected to the practice. Really excited I get to learn how to play fingestyle like this: step for step, with an explanation of how and why you do things. This course is already challenging me in a delightful way!! Thank you!
@BernadetteTeachesMusic
5 жыл бұрын
Hi Chiara! It is completely normal if subdividing was difficult. That's why I closed the video saying that I *do not* expect anyone to feel completely comfortable with these terms today. It's a process. With that said, I am super proud of you for watching the video again because that will help all of this sink in and make sense. And you're absolutely right, we learned a bit of theory today and immediately applied it to our practice. We did that because I always appreciated the teachers who gave me a chance to *do* what they were presenting. I find that that's a great way to learn, at least for me. Thank you for being here, Chiara! And thank you for sharing your struggles. It means A LOT to me ❤️❤️❤️

@@BernadetteTeachesMusic Honesty is the best policy right? And I like it when I see that other people struggle too and then see them conquer a challenge. Makes me believe we can do this with enough practice. Been playing the uke, my first instrument, since february and I'm proud of my progress. I remember when I had a hard time playing a G chord and know I can (sorta) play an E chord and do some other cool stuff. So I will gladly take the practice AND the theory to achieve my dream of playing music. Bring it on, 30 day uke course 💪

I'm beyond looking forward to the next month !!!!!! I remember doing the 30 day challenges last time & it made me such a better player on ukulele!!! Plus it just helps to spend time together playing music ! I learn something every time!! I played arpeggios on flute for years, but never on ukulele till today!!! I love what you taught today, & how u said all the great players play without stopping the fingerpicking between notes! That's what I challenge myself to be like!! I watched ur video on "Why do you build me up Buttercup Baby" & I can play & sing it with my family now! It was a big hit!!! The notes on that song sound so pretty on ukulele! Music really does make my heart sing & thank you for all you do to make my life a lot brighter !!!!!!!!! Luv ya, Latonya 💝🎶🎉🎵💐

Starting off discouraged. I am really surprised that you started off the first real lesson of this series with 4 difficult chords. Also, I am confused. We are only playing the C, E and A stings but every chord involves also holding down the G string. So why aren't we playing all four strings? The Adele song is in the printable twice. they see to be the same. Lastly, if you do more series can you please give us a cover page that wouldn't use up quite so much colored ink?
