That masonry block is upside down. The reverse side had a thicker hand hold. The second block is positioned correctly.

Should’ve added your mud to the joint on the stationary block before laying the second one. When I first started laying, I had to mud both block because by the time I got done wiggling the block to get them parallel, I’d have a gaping joint. After doing as I explained, if you have a small gap at the top of the joint, you can always throw some mud in when you lay your second course. Another thing I noticed is that you need to use more mud under the first course so it has plenty of surface area for the pier to adhere to the pad beneath. Long winded comments seem to be happening more often lately. Maybe I’m growing a furchina. Maybe It just bothers me to see instructional videos being produced by people that are only learning themselves. And it possibly just means that the 92 braves went head to head with the Baltimore Orioles. Nobody knows but jesico. And he’s too high to tell.
