Smarami Ramam - A dance offering in commemoration of the inauguration of the Bhavya Ram Mandir at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi - series of video excerpts of dance choreographies on Sri Rama by Ananda Shankar Jayant
Day 3 - An excerpt from Thyagaraja Ramayanam - a duet that looks at Ramayana through the vision of Thyagaraja with Valmiki Shlokas used for continuity.
Thayagaraja Ramayanam was one of the earliest choreographies of Dr Ananda Shankar Jayant that was created in 1986 as a solo or ekaharya. Since then it has travelled widely becoming one of Ananda’s longest running productions.
Now recast as a duet, this excerpt showcases the Bhakta paying his respects to Sri Rama, and describing details of Sri Rama’s birth as described by Sage Valmiki.
