I'm not a copywriter myself, but I've worked at agencies and with clients in many different sectors. From what I've seen, copywriting can be quite lucrative if done well - especially if you incorporate a revenue share component into your compensation (which you've mentioned). Not every client will want a rev share arrangement. In those cases, you'll need to apply a value-based pricing model based on expected future returns. It takes time and confidence to achieve that, but it's absolutely doable. I've seen people succeed with this approach, and they were not online gurus or anything like that. Anyway, I'm glad to see you've found a client. I know how important it is to get validation as early as possible and escape that feeling of anxiety and pressure to make money. Keep it up!
