For what seems like a lifetime ago my grandfather followed by my uncle ran a dairy farm. I don’t recall how many cows they had, maybe fifty. What I do remember is they never got a day off-milked twice a day every day. I know it’s a lot of hard work and I can appreciate what you and Brent do. Keep feeding America!

Oh the joy of farming. Long days, hard work, and enjoyable times if you enjoy it. Love the fact you show kindness to your cows. They look like they enjoy it when you are around them. That brown one looks like she is a Prima Donna around the camera. I noticed you use the 2 finger to strip the cows. I always used the 5-finger method. I could do the 2 finger but I just felt more comfortable using the 5-finger way. That was as lot of hay I think you will get more than 20 bales in that field. Lots of luck and God bless.

I admire you and your boss running a dairy farm with all the hard work involved during these hard times. Especially for the independent small farmer. ( Although big by our standards). Keeping low overhead on equipment is part of it. Hard work and dedication is the other part. We had a cab ( windbreaker ) like that on our 826. Does your boss still have The rest of it ? Keep up the good work.

Love Brent's shirt! Lobsters are awesome! I had to laugh, you milk like I did, but I worked for a guy for awhile who had everyone wear rubber gloves, couldn't touch the tails because they were dirty, so me being a guy would get whacked in the you know where with the tails doing pre and post dip. Drove me nuts, it was like having a day off when he went somewhere, gloves never came out and you could hold the tails while you did the dipping. Being in the dip all milking it wasn't like you were going to have bacteria on your hands anyhow. Never made any sense to me, but they didn't milk very long.

Hi Taylor, your cows are so friendly and just stand there while you clean them to be milked. It's been very hot there, so how bad are the flies? In other farm videos from America and England, I have seen farmers spraying the cattle with a special fly repellent because there is just so many flies about annoying the cattle. In this hot weather is it a thing in your area to go swimming to cool off and if so, where would you go? I enjoy your videos if you are working in the field or in the milking shed. It doesn't matter cause you give us great content. I love your 'protective' footwear on the tractor but if they keep your feet cool, why not. Chris from Australia 🇦🇺.
@tayfarms
Жыл бұрын
Hi! Yup they are pretty sweet girls😃 Flies are AWFUL here. We’ve put liquid fly repellent on them twice already, and they just keep coming back 😤 very frustrating. Yes lots of swimming in our area we have many lakes so usually that’s where we head to cool off. Really glad you enjoy watching, thanks so much!

One more thing I forgot to mention. Have you or your boss check metal tubs or water lines for stray voltage that come from the power company. Use a voltmeter and set to volt and touch on metal surfaces, Including the water bowels for your cows. 3 volts and give them mastitis or eventually kill cows. Humans don't usually detect it.
