The videos are awesome. I love the realistic depiction of surgery as a whole picture. Instant noodles? It's so spot on it feels scripted haha. Some people do a week of night shift and thinks "oh I can handle this" when in reality you're on nights for months as residents at a time some times with actual tasks/assignments to do. Same thing with being on trauma and trauma calls. A lot of people do a months of acting "internship" where they spend most of their times in the OR and think that's residency when in fact it could be upwards of 3 years before they start seeing the OR on a consistent basis. And it's not like the calls and early morning rounding stops after residency either, you get more efficient but as an attending you still got calls and still have early cases and rounding to do. Don't just decide to go into surgery because it's "cool" or you've overly Romanized it. Really have that inner talk with yourself, is this something I can picture myself enjoy doing when I'm 50 or 60 years old. I know attendings who still gets to work at 6am in the morning, drink their diet coke, and goes about their cases until 6-8pm, because they love what they do.
