Hi! I am from boston, and there is no CAA schooling here (yet!) I have been looking at NSU and I was wondering what you did for money to move down there because I have money saved, but I’m not sure if I will have enough to be able to move down there and go to school full-time. I’ve heard mixed opinions on working while going to CAA school. Additionally, I wasn’t sure if the clinical rotation was paid and you just need to mainly get through the first year to not work. I’ve heard people live off some loans so that’s an option for me. Super curious to hear your thoughts or any advice you have as I have my bachelors in health sciences and was going to be a CRNA, but I believe the CAA path is my calling!

@@nicoleellie While i did enter the program with savings, I primarily live off my my student loans. In addition to covering tuition, they provide approximately 60k/year directly to your checking account for the purpose of covering your living expenses. in your second year you are not paid, but you can receive your first job’s sign on bonus early. It may range from 2500-3,333 per month. However i did not do this and it’s not something to rely on.

Great videos!!! I'm looking forward to more ❤. Do you have any suggestions on how to get shadow hours in Broward Florida. I'm applying to Nova in Fort Lauderdale.
@jonah.barros
3 ай бұрын
Most people find shadowing through one of their contacts from work or family/friends. One tip if you can't do that would be to drop off some baked goods to be delivered to the anesthesia department with a written letter asking to shadow. That might help your chances as offering shadowing is a BIG favor from an anesthesiologist or AA

Of the 4 hospitals I’ve worked at (Fl & Ga), they don’t have Anesthesia Assistants. 👨⚕️ As an OR nurse, I’ve only worked with CRNAs and LPNs (they assisted the Anesthesiologist & CRNAs by setting up). Is there job stability for you guys? 🤔
@jonah.barros

We won't be in every health system as it's still a growing profession and AAs I've spoken with tend to stick at their first home hospital for years/decades. But that doesn't impact the overall demand for AAs much. There's been nothing but increasing job prospects over the last few years.
