Are Certifications or Degrees better for I.T.?
@zaxwrld
3 жыл бұрын
Experience is king. Certifications will get you in the door of a Helpdesk position, your job from there will be to learn as much as you can in regards to your current job and what career path you want to go down. Degrees will get you in the door to better jobs (still start at the same position as the certification route), you'll just be more of a higher candidate in the hiring process. If you want to get into IT don't worry about a degree unless you have the time and money to take that on. If you're broke like the rest of us just get the certifications, find ways to lab it up at home and most importantly get that first job. Gain the experience and after 2-3 years look for a better position. I've been in for about 2-3 years now and I am making the most I've made in my life, I'm enjoying my career and am currently looking for a new position that will give me a challenge.

@@zaxwrld just piggybacking on what you said about labs, you can find labs to do at home via ITprotv, textbooks, youtube, etc. The important thing with labs is making sure you have enough space for it both internally & externally.
