If you’ve already decided to come, start learning Japanese now. If you make the mistake of slacking off on this like I did, you will have limited opportunities with both jobs, and women/men 😉 I learned most of my Japanese in Japan. I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I was in college 🤣 and yes I do like it

Hey, sure 🙂. I’ve had multiple jobs in Japan. All aside from 1 (my first job here), I applied while living in Japan. I’m almost certain that there are many companies here that hire from overseas though. Apart from the work culture. I've heard of a loneliness epidemic in Japan. Like how it is not easy to make friends especially for gaijins. How true is this claim if I may ask?
@kantancoding
7 ай бұрын
The loneliness thing is more attributed to a person’s lifestyle in my opinion. It’s not just foreigners, it’s anybody who doesn’t break away from the ease of just staying home and using social media. Japanese people included. Just like any other place, you have to make an effort to go out and meet people. It’s not like Japan specifically has some barriers that makes it more difficult for you to meet people unless of course you are talking about the language. But even still, plenty of English speakers in Japan. So in conclusion, it depends on you. Easy to be lonely in this increasingly digital world regardless of what country you’re in.

If you want to get a job, then I would not advise C++ or Java. Go for Go, TypeScript, Python, or something of the like. In any case, it's important to research on what's in demand in your local area. The problem with Java or Ruby, is that they are now mostly for legacy projects, where it's not easy to intern/get a junior position. A more suitable one would be Kotlin (mostly for Android), or C# if you're leaning more towards back-end.

Working from home gets lonely sometimes if you don't have a family. If you're not careful, it can become a very depressing and lonely way to live. It's easy to become isolated if you work remote and never make the effort to get out around other people in my opinion. When I go to the the office I meet with my team most of the time. Sometimes I go alone if I want to get out of my apartment and at least be around other people. Also, I like talking to random people to practice my Japanese. But of course this is all just my personal preference.
