www.electricianinformationres... - Day In The Life Of An Industrial Electrician - Mounting The Variable Frequency Drive
Good Day, Everyone, It’s Dusten Huebner here from Electrician Information Resource.
And in today's video, we're going to do another day in the life of an industrial electrician. So I was explaining earlier that in the MCC I add some red lines to do and a bunch of electrical design to do to get all this work in and tied together. So I'm pretty much all done knots and I'm out in the field in that wall-building I was telling you about and we're going to do some actual physical work and work from what I was drawing. So let me show you around here. So the goal is I've got to get this VFD cabinets up on the wall. This is a this is a big cabinet. It weighs quite a bit. I'm really happy this building has a little a crane hoist in it and we got to get it on this wall here.
So I got some power cable there. We've got to work with, I just got to take this fireworks or us, no fire extinguisher but first aid kit off the wall and we're gonna Mount it right there. So in the end that VFD is going to control this motor. Are you here for this Distech centrifuge? So that's a unit we're running currently. The set up they have doesn't quite work. Here's the motor feeder right there going up to a contactor. So across the line, straight full load amps plus in a rush when we start and it's not, it's not able to spend this spin, this center Fuge with a full load amp starting. So that's why we need the soft start VFD. So this is a nice little panel. No Prince pretty much just got to figure it out, which is always fun. And yeah, so there's some control, there are level switches out in this tank and behind there's pressure switches, valves, and they all tie into this PLC, which we got to make the VFD run according to the PLC program.
So this is why the drawings and getting that all done first is good. So now we could just go ahead and wire and it should work pretty much for the intro here. Like I said, we just gotta get this on the mountain, on the wall, do a whole bunch of control wiring, run the power wiring, terminate into the motor, all kinds of stuff. And you're going to see a lot of that with my GoPro, which I showed you. That's right over there. So hope he goes, guys, enjoy this and please subscribe to the channel. I'm trying to really grow the channel and I think you guys watching me work has been intriguing and you guys like to see that. So let me know any feedback in the comments below and I greatly appreciate it and enjoy the video.
