On Continuous Education Days such as today, we provide meetings between different teams, but above all knowledge sharing with the ultimate goal of better care for pets.
But also personal contact and generally: fun at work.
This Continuous Education Day took place in Eindhoven, just a little more towards the Belgian border so that colleagues from AniCura Belgium could easily come as well.
Today was about the mouth: "Day of the Dentistry". That's important in the run-up to the National Dental Month, in which we have special promotions and in which we pay extra attention to dentistry. For example, take a look or anicura.nl/gebit.
We notice that owners often have insufficient knowledge about their pet's teeth, so as a veterinarian and paraveterinarians it is our job to identify, treat and help prevent dental problems.
For example by explaining the possible consequences of bad teeth to the customer, but also by recognizing problems and making them visible by taking X-rays. "The upper jaw is harder, because you have much more cavities there."
On this Continuous Education Day we zoomed in on: Anatomy and mouth examination. On the diagnosis of periodontitis. Equipment and maintenance and working ergnomically. On cleaning. Dental x-rays and everything related to it. And on a dental plan for dogs and cats.
In the Netherlands, Continuous Education is not mandatory, but they are mandatory within the quality system (KMS) of AniCura. At AniCura, we work hard to improve Veterinary Medicine in the Netherlands in every respect, and the AniCura Continuous Education Days contribute positively to this. All in all, it was a pleasant day in which we worked together internationally and with positive feedback as a result.
