what is not mentioned is the earl of dudley's staue originally faced overlooking his lands down castle hill, but after his great debts and betrayal of the dudley people his staue was turned up towards the town with his back on his beloved black country. He left hundreds of open mine shafts which the council had to pay to have capped and a whole lot more not mapped and still today opening up like the one which did at back of my junior school in tividale and the one in centre of main rd from dudley to oldbury.

That is rather the point? The zoo now is dedicated to helping endangered species, not collecting them like pokemon cards and shoving them into totally unsuitable enclosures. Most of us prefer it that way. You come across like a bit of a museum exhibit yourself, to be honest.

I’m glad that remaining zoos (which should be banned - much better to have safari parks especially for large mammals) are larger than they used to be with more to occupy these poor animals who, on this clip, look thoroughly bored and under fed.

A crime what the planners have did to that town. The Zoo, however, I took my daughter there when she was about 9'years old and have never visited another, & neither has she, or her, now grown up, children. It was awful, like Victorian visitors to an insane asylum to look at depresives.

@@karpetcabin well when Mr Grace left it was sold to Scotia Investments an entertainment company.A load of wide boys. The killer whale Cuddles was brought in poor devil did his tricks in a small pool. He died his stomach was full of ulcers. I’m not sure when the elephant ts left. They got the zoo into a bad state The Council took it over. It was then dying on its legs and now you have got what’s left.Councils can never run anything properly.
