What a sweet fixture. I have two Day-Brite fixtures myself, one just like this with two lamps, and one from around 64 with a GE Bonus Line rapid start ballast. Most three lamp fixtures I've seen have two ballasts, including mine which I have a three way switch installed so I can have low-medium-high.

Nice!! Love my F90T17 two lamp, Westinghouse brick ballast original fixture. Mine looks like that one, and came from the former Powell Valves Plant in Cincinnati, OH. It now provides nice bright light above my basement Workbench!

@BROKEN.WRENCH.GARAGE they sure are! I'm thankful for having only one, because of the generosity of a friend of mine! And I have a few spare bulbs, a ballast spare and a few extra watchdog starters too!

Nice old fixture probably 1950s or 60s. Better stock up on those genuine 40 watt T12s while you can. Because from my understanding these older ballasts can overheat and leak or light on fire if you install 34 or 35 watt evergy saver T12, or the more modern F32T8. About 10 years ago I actually once was on service call to replace some fluorescent fixtures in a janitors closet in an elementary school built in the 1970s I'm told, where the ballast caught fire spilling flaming tar down setting off the sprinklers and fire alarm. The maintenance guys had been using F32T8, probably because they were more readily available and many of the original 12 fixtures in the school had been replaced with F32T8 lamps with electronic ballasts by that point.

That's true. These old ballasts WILL self-destruct if they are ran with anything but genuine 40w tubes!

Don't be putting 34-watt energy saving lamps on that ballast as it will overheat and burn out with 34-watt energy saving lamps.
