Unlike other DAYS 80s aficionados, I always thought DAYS' music was at its best 1980-1983, followed by 1988-1991 rather than mid 80s, although like the 90s and even early 00s, there's always tons of inidivdual cues that I like.
As a musician, I've long ago discovered the novelty and sometimes efficiency of arranging a musical piece in a different key than the original, and in early DAYS music I noticed that often for better, they improved on their cues simply by changing his the key and with most of the time minor or none differences in the arrangements.
Here are examples of when that happened with cues I love
String cue #1 (0:00-0:26)
I love the original one, it's so moody but the latter used during the Strangler era is more emotive.
String cue #2 (0:26-0:55)
This theme had so many great scenes.
String cue #3 (0:56-2:45)
Unlike with the other pieces, the version heard first in this video, was not the original and were used only a few times and I guess they simply realized the original was better.
Stefano's theme (2:47-5:21)
Stefano's majestic theme. Obviously it's much more powerful the Steffy-way as well as more (d)epth when played in D minor.
