I swear, every time you do a DD swatch video, my pocket books start screaming. I love DD and am so happy you have been swatching the colors. I just can't tell what the colors really look like and how they apply from the website. I already have Me'd Forest Queen but now I have to add Vigor. I love Mythic Teal. Thank you so much! I just love watching you work and the banter between you guys. Can't wait until the next DD swatch video.

This is the first swatch video I've watched, and I thought it was so sweet how he was building you up! Reminding you to think of your own opinion not just what clients would like and that you don't KNOW a color wouldn't look good on you ❤️ so sweet ☺️

Thanks for considering my comment about the top coat, this video was really helpful to watch! My top 3 are vigor, mythic teal and blue blood but I would wear all of them and I’m always partial to the “ugly pretty” greens like tipsy missy and waltz with me.

Hi Toni! Did you troubleshoot with one of their educators? Is it the polish peeling or your nails peeling? I find sometimes that’s the case with my clients. The nail peels taking product with it.

@@TheSalonLife you've been more helpful than their educator. I've explained step by step to her and she said application is stricky and she's still getting the hang of it....wasn't happy since I bought almost $200 and am willing to not return it if it works but it's peeling. My nails don't peel so I think it's the base coat peeling. I've done the sealing all that crap all the extra wait time. What I was asking and they haven't responded is if step one is just polish remover? So I changed my nails yesterday and they literally peeled so I picked off the polish. I then redid my nails last night and they seem fine. I questioned the issue of wearing gloves I wear gloves alot and asked if that could be causing it to soften and thus peel.

We aren't talking chipping im fine with chipping but literally the next day the huge chunk peeling off I need a better explanation than "dazzle dry is tricky"
@TheSalonLife
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Toni, no that is not normal. I had exactly the same issue when I first used DD like 10 years ago and I sadly gave up. My issue was that the base coat wasn't completely clear before the application of the color. It has to be watery and completely clear. Put the bottle in some hot water. Just stand it in water 1/2 covered. So the water doesn't get into the neck of the bottle. Also make sure each coat of polish is not too thick and dried properly. The PREP (Step 1) is definitely not just a polish remover. I only use Step 1 as my prep. Never polish remover. Polish remover might have oils that prevent proper adhesion. Dazzle Dry is not very tricky, it's just a little different. If your nails are nice and healthy and it's applied properly then it should last. Gloves and soft nails can cause problems but not terrible peeling like this. If you want, send me a picture of your natural nails (bare and wiped with pure alcohol and dry, close up) so I can troubleshoot with you :) thesalonlife @ gmail.com

@@TheSalonLife thank you that's awesome!! I do do the water thing with step two but I'm thinking the issue is somehow with step one. Also I did get done tips from. Your video about step 2.

@@TheSalonLife Light Elegance Akzentz Enailcouture or even just your thoughts on them. I'm dying to try Dazzle Dry they look amazing
@TheSalonLife
4 жыл бұрын
Ah, I thought nail polish. Dazzle Dry is nail polish, the ones you mentioned are gel polishes. Light Elegance has Buttercreams, I have one video on Patreon using that over JimmyGel. Other than that they need to be filed off because they are not soak off (not easy to swatch on real nails). I got 3 colors to try but then I had to close my salon (coronavirus lockdown). The other LE gel polishes are awful (thick formula, maybe they changed it). Not too many people are interested in Akzentz so I stopped making the videos, if I get more requests I might. Enailcouture- hm... not a fan of the brand, that's all I'm going to say publicly.

Thanks Anna I find most clients like and prefer gel. I was looking at Peacci regular polish from the gel bottle inc. I guess Dazzle seems to be the one to try. I see other ones just so many out there.

@@TheSalonLife I really appreciate that the majority of your swatches are for natural nails. I'm unable (unwilling) to use any thing like gel or dip because how harsh it is to remove. Plus, I like doing my own nails--even though I keep my nails short because of work, I love the feeling of accomplishment I have when I've done my own mani. I love to see peoples reaction when they ask me who does my nails and I answer "I do my own mani"
