Yes split pins was a definate Dave Boddington trademark,he used them a lot for his strut fixings and why not ? they are cheap and available, just as you were showing us the ailerons my mind was saying add stiffening ribs Rob ! you are right the tension pulls the end ribs in badly and for the sake of a bit of scrap balsa well worth beefing up in those areas, interesting that even full sized WW1 types had fairly flimsy wings when in the uncovered and unrigged state, the tension on the flying and landing wires made a very big difference,I like the centre section build it really looks good,in fact the whole model will really be a good realistic Sopwith Pup,it iconic and they always fly really well and will take off on very little power as well.

My J3 Cub has ground to a halt, by the time I get in from work I'm to tired to do any modelling but I've got a week off soon so should get a bit more done, looking forward to the covering video roll on the weekend : )
