There is also a huge difference in price. Almost 200 dollars difference. It seems unfair to compare something with that big of price difference. Dollar for Dollar value I beleive the Timber Rattler may be the winner. Especially for new collectors that dont have 225 dollars to spend on a knife but still wants to experience a large bowie and can afford 30 dollars. Since the overall design seems to be almost identical in the two.
@DonnieBAllDay
3 жыл бұрын
This video was done by request. The Mission III is sub $200. Dollar for dollar, the TR still doesn't compare. The $15 Szco High Carbon Bowie is half the price of the TR and far better in edge geometry. Even a budget blade should have proper beveling.
@hansonmcghant785
3 жыл бұрын
@@DonnieBAllDay The Szco is a decent knive for the price I have had 3 of them. All were different blade thickness, the last one was less than 3/32 thick. And the grind lines looked like an ocean wave, but still for the price I agree it is hard to beat. I would take high carbon over cheap stainless any day of the week. You definetly have to keep it oiled and out of sheath or rust will take over pretty quick on it though.

After watching a lot of these videos, It has become clear the Timber Rattler Western Outlaw is the gateway drug to the Big Bowie addiction. For forty bucks it gets you into the thick blade game and suddenly anything less than 11" and a quarter inch thick is no longer of interest. The Khukiri House has a lot of respect for you and now I see a bunch of stuff I never knew about and can't live without. Poor Cold Steel got sold and the new owners don't love the game. In Germany the Mission III is about double the price of a Timber Rattler Western Outlaw Bowie. I am thinking first time, that a knife about twice the price is twice as good as the cheap one. On other blades of similar size and length this often is not the case. Because both of 'em cut, both have a sheet, both take an edge. But when I see the cutting, think about the materials and the handle design it becomes the truth. This Mission III is twice as good as the Timber Rattler. At least in my humble opinion.
