Joe, just remember, YOU have EARNED the respect of members in the knife community. Knife creators, manufacturers and testers have taken notice of you and your ‘testing’ methods. That, combined with your great personality, has made you a trusted, fun member of this community. I don’t think anyone else could’ve pulled off what you do, the way you do it. You’ve earned your place in this community and I hope you are able to balance your full time job with your KZitem channel. I look forward to seeing where this channel goes in the future and I’ve recommended your channel to everyone I know. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours Joe.

Yes Joe, I couldn’t agree more!! Besides being fun and entertaining, you are actually putting out some seriously solid info not only to knife users but the companies who are designing and building these knives!! I’m sure it really busts their balls when they rave about how tough and awesome or indestructible their knives are and then you just humble them right back down to earth!! LoL 😂 Lol!! Btw, so I’m usually bugging you about a couple things lol, One is I always ask you what you’re current favorite fixed blade knife is. 👍🏼 And the other question is when will you do a video with Winkler! HaHa! So here’s yet another question my friends and I were talking about: If you were headed to Ukraine to volunteer to fight with them, what knife (or knives) would you take?? Merry Christmas Brother! 🔪🎄🗡️

Wow Joe! Very happy with the results of the knife! You put in a ton of effort into making this video! We really appreciate it a lot! We've asked TRC to see if they can beefen up the parts where it broke in the handle a bit. That said the skeletonization is a consious decision to create a better balance in the blade. In the end its a premium blade which mainly needs te feel right when using it for its inteded use. It's actually cheaper for us to not skeletonize it. I'm very very happy to see the breaking point where it is in your video considering it's elmax at high hardness. And yes.... it was scary to see too hahaha! Thank you so much and happy 2023! BTW... i laughed so hard in the end when you kept shooting the fragments... it's like you wanted to evaporate the knife hahahah! This video was bloody brilliant!

For being a zero edge and a super stainless steel in the same time, it's amazing, the amount of edge stability it showed! The zero edge, is the reason, it took that damage on the edge when it hit the iron rod, however, since it didn't get any damage on chopping that much amount of wood, means it's a Top of the line performance! @@tacticalcenter8658 You can't create a big convex bevel without belts. It still has really good edge stability, for being zero edge and a hard steel in the same time. Only the for being zero edge, it should have the chipped just from the wood chopping. You have to use knives in the outdoors, collecting wild edibles and real life stuff, to understand, how knives perform. Reading only comments and watching only KZitem, where the most misinformation you can find exists, will only lead you to a wrong "picture" on knives. TRC makes some of the best quality knives. What you say about fast belts, that those are the reasons, of the chips, that's not true. It's a "zero" edge and super hard steel, that's the reason, but it still outperformed itself.

Not at all, different steels for different applications.....one steel does not cover all applications, the DBK knife is more a hunting, bushcrafting, camp orientated type knife and has a sensible steel selection for the purpose. @@yankee23a more than twice the price for the dbk knife as well. For the average guy most are not out hunting that much so blade steel and edge retention are not as important as being easy to sharpen. If you can afford it buy the best, you can but it's the losing a expensive knife as well a cheap Kinfe if you lost it or broke it, so what I would go as far as to say there would be a lot hunting and survival knives that will never be used for that purpose, some will never be used just a looking toy.

Good job showing the tang. I agree, I dont consider it a true full tang. I like the dbk boys but for such an expensive knife I don't understand why they did that. Maybe for balance or some shit, but I prefer durability and strength

yeah, maybe for balance, maybe they change it on future knives!!!!

Thank you for the awsome test. Once I've asked you to test the TRC South Pole, but the DBK is pretty close to it, so many thanks to you and to them of course. If you want the real beast, try the TRC Mille Cuori Vanadis 4. I wish you a Happy new year!

As you said, massive kudos for the guys for sending it in. I think the aesthetics of this knife is rather nice and subtle and might appeal to a lot of people. Maybe don't lose it in the woods, haha. Too bad it's currently not available if I got it right. To all: Thanks for the insightful comments as well.

thanks for the comment, it is a good knife and Maarten emailed me, that he is happy it did not broke at the "blade", they know about the tang, it is for balance of the knife and they will talk to TRC about it!! they are cool dudes!!!!!

You should also show the sharpness and feathersticking, buttoning, cutting and other qualities of knife besides destruction.

Yup. Smashing a small knife against a rock and wondering why it didn’t survive is not a test, that’s just going for destruction 😂
