This is looking pretty cool. I like the ability to just have it mapped to the button you already have mapped on your controls to radios. I know a lot of people may not do it this way, but I usually try to change my mappings to be somewhat accurate to the real HOTAS layout, so not having to change mapping because I've got x button set as my radio in my Hornet, but in the Apache it's something combat related is real nice. Looking forward to trying it out online!

Love that ED recognizes why SRS has become so prominent! One thing I noticed is there's no apparent sound effect to indicate you the mic is live (hit the PTT button) like SRS has. While it's probably technically an artifact of older tech and may not actually be a thing in all real-world aircraft but it is a good QoL feature for giving the user that feedback to the action.

General Aviation Planes, in general, don't have a *Beep* per say when you key a mic up. Typically, you hear a "Change" in the feedback of your voice through your headset that indicates you're transmitting. Like a type of squelch, if you will.

Nice update. I have to say that it would be really great if there was an option/interface where you could see which of the players in the lobby have their mic set up. For example: An interface where you can see all players and their setups. One option as "Listening". One option as "Transmitting & Listening" and one for being completely off. This could solve the problem of players not giving calls to players who don't respond, even though they could use the information. If you're just listening on radio calls and never respond they will stop communicating to you which is understandable. But with a system like this players can make a choice who they want to call or not.

Sorry if this was missed in the video, I read several comments refencing the "end" which I've watched :) Will this work with someone who has Combined Arms, in terms of if they were in charge of AIC, JTAC or something in that regard where they may be controlling/ordering around that unit - would they be able to also use the 'radio' or at least be able to make a radio for that unit like you showed in the options to kind of 'fake' it? Or is this more the use case of having a common room where while it's not ideal, it's a good holdover until what you said in the last 15 seconds comes to fruition.

Till this moment the only thing the built in Voice Chat did in my experience is catching people unaware. As in, it's already twice now that in MP server I could hear somebody who was clearly not aware of transmitting on open mike. And not on some frequency either - I was dead, just in a spectator mode or looking at the map, and I could hear them fumbling around, clearly making ready to start a flying session. I didn't quite know how to let them know they're transmitting, looks like I wasn't on open mike. Strange things like that aren't helping to build trust in VC when we have a very well working SRS...

@MattWagner May I ask if you can update the UI? 1st, players can select in the home screen their fighters and edit the payload, configuration, and way points (for each map, airport's). 2nd in the multiplayer if I can select which fighter I want to fly and fix it so it doesn't reset every time I die or go to another server. 3rd, add the VOIP in the home screen (not settings) so it would be easier to set it up on the fly with the fighter I am selecting. 4th and this is very important, update the kneepad to realistically represent actual IFR/VFR maps and airport runways and taxiway. 5th an updated UI, for player made MODs, so we can install and remove them within DCS, which means they will be approved by ED, and compatible with the game, ex, F-16 skin or F-18 mission, with out having to go to the folder and editing it, more than one time the game crashes because of that.
