On 1st of May 1967, USS Bonhomme Richard launched a strike group against Kep airfield, North-East of Hanoi. Enemy airfields had only recently been cleared for airstrikes in Operation Rolling Thunder and this one hoped to take advantage of the situation and try to catch some MiGs on the ground.
Airstrike consisted mostly of A-4 Skyhawks with Lt Cdr T.R Swartz leading the flak suppression element. Swartz had previously flown F-8 Crusaders and he was a proper fighter pilot at heart. During his attack on Kep airfield, an opportunity arose for him to accomplish an unique achievement, never again repeated until the end of Vietnam War.
DISCLAIMER: Historically, fighter escort for this airstrike were F-8 Crusaders but since they are yet unavailable in DCS, F-4E Phantoms in USN skins are shown instead.
