The Beaver was first introduced in 1947 with only 1,600 built before production was ceased in 1967.
These aircraft were designed to fulfill the requirements of bush pilots to serve remote places. It has excellent short take off and landing ( STOL) performance.
The DHC-2 Beaver has been widely adopted by armed forces as a utility aircraft and the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary (Civil Air Patrol) currently has nine. used for search and rescue.
