The KZitem algorithm has been shafting James and Dead Meat for some time now. His videos used to get millions of views, now they have trouble breaking 1 million views. It won’t be long before KZitem shoves this channel into the ether and it’s a damn shame too. I love this channel. One of the best this site has to offer.

There are so many moments of this that are so relatable for me. Having trouble with finding writers who replicate your voice, having to spend way too much time blurring gore, cringing at vocal delivery from 2019, not having time for anything social outside of KZitem for YEARS, making all your revenue in October. And being really proud of the current videos! Let's kill it this year James! (Pun intended)

@Guard I'm looking at the numbers for the Kill Counts that Zoran has done, and this just isn't true. Out of the 19 (unless i missed some) he has done, only 5 have less than 1 million views (with 4 of them coming from the Critters series). 3 have more than 2 million, leaving us with 11 Kill Counts that range between 1 - 1,9 million views. Those are fairly good numbers for the generally speaking smaller, more obscure movies and series' that Zoran tends to cover. So the numbers are about on par, if not slightly better than the numbers that James hosted Kill Counts of more obscure movies get.

I’m one of the people who thinks your videos are the best they’ve ever been. The behind the scenes info makes it in my opinion. Even if I’ve seen a movie a ton of times, I always watch the kill count if it comes out because I know it’s gonna be littered with tons of stuff I never knew. Yall seem excited about putting out your best work… love to see that. It shows so much when things are done out of passion and not just a job. Looking forward to 2024! Great work y’all!

I didn’t watch horror movies until 2022, and I’ve been watching Dead Meat since 2017. I always just considered the Kill Counts recap to be enough. It wasn’t until you started including all the behind the scenes footage and discussing the filmmaking process that I was inclined to check the movies out. Now it’s one of my favorite genres, and that maybe wouldn’t have happened without the revitalized Kill Counts. So thank you James, Chelsea, and the entire Dead Meat Crew, for helping me discover this passion. Here’s to 2024 :)

I've been watching dead meat since the 2nd video ever released, and I was really young then, like in elementary school young. The first horror movie I watched was The Thing because in that Kill Count James said it was his favorite horror movie. Now I'm approaching the end of high school and looking into going to film school because watching Dead Meat consistently from the beginning shaped my life that damn much. Dead meat is doing the best stuff they've ever done now, and I'm so grateful that I've seen it grow this much. I doubt that in the sea of comments just like this that this comment will be read by anyone on the team, but I just want to put it out in the world how much Dead Meat means to me. There are a lot of people who I end up skipping over the ads they do because it gets boring hearing the same thing repeated every video, but the skits are really fun. I think the quality of the kill counts keeps getting better and better.

I've been following your channel for quite some time (subscribed on multiple accounts so whenever I switch I still see your videos) and I just have to say, the journey of your content has been absolutely mindblowing. The quality of your videos has always been phenomenal but with the recent changes you've implemented, wow, this shit is next level. It's wild how these new tweaks make the older videos, which were never boring, seem a bit pale in comparison. It really hit me that you guys have effectively raised the bar for what Dead Meat videos are supposed to be. The quality we're seeing now is just leagues above what was there before, and I used to think those videos were amazing enough. What really blows me away is your commitment to just keep improving, when you really don't have to because we love the kill count even when yOu tALk LIKe thIS. But for real, it's incredibly inspiring to see you look at your already amazing work and think, "Nope, this isn't enough. My viewers deserve better, and I want to do better." And then, you just crank up the quality to 11. The dial was 1-10. There was no 11, and you still hit it. The passion and effort you put into every video is just so evident. The way you manage to constantly reinvent yourselves while keeping the essence of what makes Dead Meat great is extraordinary. It shows a deep respect for your audience, and I really appreciate it, and I'm sure the rest of the fanbase does to. Thanks for always going above and beyond, man. This channel has made some horror loving sickos very VERY happy. -A Horror-Loving Sicko.

Honestly, I don’t think the change in viewership numbers is the fault of the channel. It’s just the platform changing, which makes James and crew change videos (gore, sponsors) plus life events happening. But there are things to consider such as viewer burnout, notification system not working properly (happens all the damn time), and the channel crew requiring a break too. I really hope this year follows through, and is the best year for Dead Meat yet. Side note: I don’t actually watch horror movies, I get too much anxiety from them. But the stories have always fascinated me, as well as the love and passion that everyone in the genre has for it, from the artists to the audience. So I love getting to explore that in a safe way for me, and being able to experience the stories through the perspective of a team of people who obviously are extremely passionate about them. Thanks for all your hard work, and for being good people. editing to add that I’m seeing a lot of great comments from younger viewers and just wanted to say hey, you’ve got a millennial audience too 😂

Been here since day 1, and I came across this channel because I have always watched horror movies, but had “trauma” from watching some from kids. This channel helped me jump start my love for horror again, and it brought my girl and I closer. We love your videos, and if it’s a movie we haven’t seen we stop watching and go watch the movie. Keep at it and we’ll keep watching. 🤘🏽

James I think your vulnerability and honesty with your personal life is what makes this channel come to life and be the magic series that it is. I can relate to the timeline with your father and I also felt right at the new year that everything was going to go well and I would have a great year, and then I got some bad news with my mom and her cancer coming back. she's okay now but I have so much compassion and empathy for your situation! we love you and the whole dead meat crew!!

I found Dead Meat shortly after my father died and it quickly became my comfort channel. There have been times where I have seen you guys pump out a video for a movie I haven't seen, and I immediately watch the movie just so that I can watch the Kill Count. I'm so sorry for your loss James. Losing a father is never easy, but you deserve to be proud of everything that you and Team Meat have accomplished, and I can't wait to see what comes next. You have a subscriber for life with me.

What I love about your videos is that you include your crew members in almost every video that you make making it feel like it’s not just you working on them.

I always love your channel, I constantly watch kill counts while I'm at work doing my job as background noise and I always laugh when I hear a joke that went over my head on a first viewing, I hope more people watch all the kill counts because the amount of effort that goes into each episode is just amazing!! Keep up the amazing work James and dead meat team!!

I can't remember how I found this channel a few years ago, but I'm so glad I did. I look forward to a Kill Count every lunch break at work on Monday. The 'how it was made' portions of any given Kill Count are a real treat, and I cannot fathom how anyone couldn't like it. I made sure to snag a Dead Meat mug this past black Friday to help support! I also wanted to thank you for how you took the time to explain the time line of the channel and everything that it and you have been through.

I had only started watching Kill Counts and other Dead Meat content in summer 2023. I've since gone back and watched a lot of the back catalog as well as the newer Kill Counts, and I wholeheartedly agree that the newer ones are some of the best content I've seen from you guys. I really enjoy all the behind the scenes information on what went into making the movies that are being covered. That stuff really helps me appreciate the films covered more than I normally would. The Kill Count's in general have introduced me to a ton of movies I might not have actually sat down and watched otherwise. There's plenty of times I've watched the intro to a video where you quickly describe the premise of the movie being covered and I end up pausing the video to watch the movie before going back and watching the Kill Count for it. So thanks for all the great content, I'm excited to see what's in store for the rest of 2024!

I can't tell you how many great movies I've been introduced to since watching this show. Movies I would have never given a chance or ones I've never even heard of until they were covered on dead meat. My love for the genre has grown significantly and so has my appreciation for the people and effort it takes to make movies. Keep up the fantastic work dead meat crew! I'm excited to see where this year takes you!

I only started watching about two years ago, but I LOVE your recent videos, and finding this channel has helped revive my love of horror. In fact, I would credit deadmeat reviving my love of horror with the fact I literally wrote, sold and published a HORROR novel. That's your influence man, fanning the flames of love among horror enthusiasts.

I started watching Dead Meat back when you did Friday the 13th and was always looking forward to fridays cause your videos helped while I was super depressed. And you're very much responsible for getting me to love the horror genre. I will admit that I did tag out after you took a couple of breaks and I felt bad seeing all these new videos just waiting to be watched and how it was something I kept up with regularly- I will soon fix that. Thank you for everything that you do, James. And remember to take care of yourself. ❤

I'm a newer fan, but I appreciate the behind the scenes info you give on movies. I mean I could Google who dies and how. It's apparent how much you love these movies, and appreciate the creativity and skill it takes to make them. The way you present movies, and talk about stuff I wouldn't clue in to as a casual viewer, is really amazing.
