If you have a 360 Kinect and a PC adapter, you can run this on Windows!

Another reason why the game sputtered away: This was Naoki's pet project and he had his falling out with Konami within the first year of the arcade release.

I'd love to see you cover the Dance Evolution-like genre. Dance Central, Danz Base, Dance aRound, etc. I guess the latter two might be tough to be comprehensive on since they're still active.

I remember that awkward E3 presentation for this game back in 2010. Shame I wasn't aware of this game 10 years ago when I did have a Kinect, because I've grown into J-Pop content since 2018.

Our man Naoki was done dirty at that time lmao For context: Naoki Maeda is one of KONAMI's music legends, a lot of contributions under DDR and recently was involved with rhythm games like crossbeats.REV, SEVENS CODE, and the like.

Microsoft still releases and produces new Kinects, if I'm not mistaken precisely for more industrial applications. I therefore doubt that the lack of support for the hardware is any reason. On top of that, we have excellent AI solutions now that are good enough to provide the same, if not better, tracking quality the original Kinect did, with normal cameras. For the Kinect, the depth image was required for the AI to properly detect anything, it basically matched the body outline to a pose. Newer solutions such as mediapipe are fast and reliable enough to replace the Kinect. If anyone wants to make an osu!-like DanEvo Fangame, hit me up. I'm a C++ and Rust programmer, but I'm not scared of C# or Unity.

A little thing I noticed: the game had the option to either go offline or stay online but receive no more updates, I remember seeing a DanEvo cab running online back in 2019 at a mall in Thailand on real e amuse servers
