maybe it sounds funny, but it sure looks like the bike companies made stronger and stronger motors during the years - only because most of us thought with our balls instead of our brains, and thought we're great riders who can handle all that power , and after eating shit for years, suddenly one day we discover how great it is to ride a small engine that doesn't try to kill us, AND get much better results :) :) :) anyone else feels like that...?

Too many riders have been killed by the brake weld on these machines to even count them. Unless you can install the unobtanium brake pads, NEVER try to slow one of these beasts down with the stock brakes! Also, a little known fact about the dual ProLink set up... Honda designed the XR200R for NASA so the astronauts could overcome atmospheres with gravity far greater than earth’s. That’s why the suspension is so rigid, and why the machine has so much raw horsepower and torque. When NASA scrapped the manned planetary missions, the need for the machine also went away. Fortunately for us, the ace experimental test pilots who pioneered aircraft that would exceed Mach 10 and 30G inverted pulls were also involved with testing the 200R. According to historians, the sheer testicular magnitude of those test pilots required the Honda’s to be equipped with dual ProLinks. I hope the rider who filmed this survived the extra worldly forces that machine is capable of producing. Prayers for a speedy recovery!

Funny. I have the same exact bike. I actually chose this one over others because of the reliability and simplicity. I ride single track mostly, and prefer not to be stranded out in the middle of nowhere. The brakes suffice especially with the engine braking. plenty of power to have a great time, but not too much to get into trouble. and like 220lbs dry so fairly light weight and easy to pick up. The weak point imo is the front forks. In stock form they are damping rod. I installed the race tech gold valves and progressive springs and now the front suspension feels equal to the rear. I've owned newer bigger bikes and had LESS fun than I do on this. Also easy to work on and they made the engines for many years.. because they were bulletproof.

Excellent idea. Never had any clue on what ''Pro Link'' meant until now. But I know for sure that nothing bad (hmm, hmm) can be said about the Full Floater, except for the 4 clicks rebound adjustment. Never been able to decide between click 2 and 3. It was either too fast or too slow. Bummer! I have a similar feeling about my ''wide ratio'' 5 speed exc tranny. In many sections, first is too low and second too high. The guys who designed these things probably were trapped in a theoretical bubble and never tested their nonsenses.

I've been riding close to 40 years now and have a half a dozen too many bikes... ok a dozen but any way I repacked the silencer on my old 98 model KTM SX 125 got a cupla extra ponies and have just as much fun than the late mode 4 or 2 stroke KTM's and not even half the pain in my joints than the old 96 KTM pumkin ( just for the real kato fans :b How many CC's are the the pumpkins)?.. I'll give you a clue.. they are know as one of the most unrideable bikes and have a personality like a rodeo bull.. Mine want's to throw me off every ride!

Love my '85 XL350R! Bought it 18 years ago, still riding her frequently! Shame the pistons have become scarce.
