I dunno man, everyone can have a bad turn now and then. His position on the takeoff looked alright and he made the drop just fine. Plus that was a heavy drop, he almost got caught up in the lip but made it. It looked like he wanted to fade back and hit a chop. You shouldn't judge someone's overall skill by one shitty turn.

Years ago, early 2000s I lost my board from a broken leash getting sucked up and thrown over the falls… my board was on the bottom and I pulled to break the leash as the hold down was long and started to freak out. It will push you down and infront of winkipop, you’ll take it on the head at winki then you’ve got an opportunity to paddle out between bower and winki, it’s a long swim back to Shelly beach.. you can body surf the outside of bower to assist you It’s heavy wave, especially where the double up is as it will push you deep there… down the line pretty tame There is a huge rip at the take off, it’s why you see everyone taking off late and getting hung up on the lip, there is another rip flowing down to winki off the rocks, if you wipeout at the take off I doubt you’d be able to paddle straight back out unless the wave you fell on was last of the set…

Great footage. Just a little too zoomed in at times. Isn't it ironic that Britain shipped a bunch of criminals off to create probably the best place to live on the planet.
